On Monday, September 3, 2001 the ABC Daytime drama "Port Charles" kicks off its fourth book, "Tempted" The citizens of "Port Charles" were forced to confront the forces of good and evil in the third book, "Tainted Love," as relationships and personal beliefs were put to the test, and good seems to have triumphed over evil with an electrifying conclusion. Now as couples try to mend their relationships and look to the future, will they be able to trust what they once knew? Or is this the calm before an even bigger storm that is about to hit Port Charles?
Eve (Julie Pinson) and Ian (Thorsten Kaye) eagerly anticipate the birth of their first child, while Gabriela (Ion Overman) desperately tries to clear her head of Caleb (Michael Easton). Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) and Livvie (Kelly Monaco) work on healing their relationship. But when Livvie discovers an eerie reminder of Caleb, she fears that the worst is yet to come. Now that evil has been unleashed in Port Charles, will it ever go away for good?

OLTL's Kamar De Los Reyes & Annabeth Gish in "The Way She Moves"
A dance-filled romantic drama that unfolds inside the world of Salsa dancing, "The Way She Moves" stars Annabeth Gish ("The X-Files," "Desert Bloom") and Kamar de los Reyes ("The Cell," "One Life to Live") in this VH1 Original Movie, premiering Wednesday, August 29 at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on VH1.
"The Way She Moves" features numerous salsa dance scenes choreographed by Kenny Ortega, the choreographer of such big-screen hits as "Dirty Dancing" and "To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar." The executive producer is Randy Robinson. The film is directed by Ron Lagomarsino ("Running Mates," "Once and Again," DGA Award for "Picket Fences") and written by Duane Adler, who also wrote the box-office hit "Save the Last Dance."
Here's a Sneak Peek on the story...
With six weeks to go before her wedding in suburban hometown Scarsdale, young aspiring photographer Amie [Annabeth Gish] is naturally busy with all the preparations. Nevertheless, she's delighted when Tonya and Kathy, her colleagues at The Photo Place, a stock footage house, present her with a gift certificate for salsa dance lessons. Though the classes begin the following evening, Amie is excited at the prospect of learning some steps with her fiancee Jason right away, thinking that it would be fun to dance at the reception.
An ambitious stockbroker, Jason is not really interested in the lessons, balking at the commitment to two classes a week, but finally agreeing to meet Amie and her pals at the Gonzales Dance Studio in New York's Spanish Harlem.
Instantly taken by the swirling, stunning, music and the sensual moves of the studio's showcase dancers, Amie is game but unsure, and stumbles her way through lesson #1. She also finds herself intrigued by the grace and patience of elderly studio owner Ernesto -- and by his handsome nephew and protégé, Nicholas Gonzales, a two-time Puerto Rican salsa dance champion.
Though Jason blows off their next lesson, Amie returns to the studio and is more relaxed this time around, though still not quite into the salsa style's unique and beguiling flow.
Nicholas has his own problems. A schoolteacher by day, he gives dance lessons at night as the star attraction that will hopefully bring renown -- and more business -- to a family studio that's struggling to survive. But his on-off relationship with fiery partner Christina Juarez [Tessie Santiago] has just hit a major snag on the dance floor as well as the bedroom. With an important dance exhibition looming, she angrily dares Nicholas to partner with a rank amateur -- Amie -- and make her look good.
Maybe it's pre-wedding nerves, but Amie has been questioning Jason's commitment to her, and as she begins more intensive one-on-one dancing with Nicholas, her unease only grows. Her tentativeness has also been revealing itself in her photography, which lacks the extra perspective that defines the best of her art.
As Amie begins to fall in love with Nicholas, all her assumptions crumble -- and with them, her wedding plans. But is Nicholas' love for her just a brief detour from the pressures of competitive dance? Soon after agreeing to perform in the upcoming Salsa Festival, Amie and Nicholas begin a serious relationship - forcing Amie to choose between his world and the safety of her own.

Y&R's Nikki Returns & Other Y&R News
We knew it wouldn't last. Melody Thomas Scott, who packed her bags and traipsed out of her dressing room some time ago when contract negotiations and storyline seemed to be going south, and the demands of her role in "The Vagina Monologues" in Los Angeles took precedence, has now re-signed with the number one soap, and will return on air Wednesday, October 3, 2001. And it's a good thing, too. I mean, what all would Victor do without the one and only original Nikki around to impact his life?
Y&R has also just cast TV and film actress Denise Duff in the role of Amanda. Duff previously guest starred in numerous primetime series including "Dream On," and "Northern Exposure," a personal favorite of yours truly! ;o) Duff's film credits include "Subspecies II, III, IV," and "Martial Law II." Her first airdate on Y&R is Monday, September 10, 2001.
And in keeping with the many other soaps who are incorporating the musical talents of some major stars and groups into the storyline, Lionel Richie will appear on Y&R as himself and perform for the denizens of Genoa City and you. Richie is scheduled to appear on Thursday, October 4, 2001.
In addition, no it's not your TV. Y&R is pre-empted on September 3rd and again on September 7th, 2001 in order for the network to bring you the U.S. Tennis Open.
