I cannot believe that we are already at the unofficial start of summer. Have you all made your summer vacation plans? There's plenty in store for us as the summer progresses. Lisa Rhinna returns to DOOL and Eva LaRue returns to AMC. Passions has cast a new Ethan (see below) and Micky Dolenz (ex Monkee, Micky) joins the cast of As the World Turns for one day this week as a Vicar! Passions Casts New Ethan!
The search is over. Eric Martsolf has been signed to the contract role of Ethan Winthrop, the bright and attractive attorney, former heir apparent to the Crane Dynasty and ex-fiancé of Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald Crane, on NBC's hit daytime drama Passions. Martsolf's previous credits include the character of "Pharoah" in the Osmond National Touring Company of Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, "Danny Zuko" in Grease and "Professor Higgins" in My Fair Lady at the Dauphin Theatre, as well as a regular on-stage singing and acting partner with legendary country super-star Dolly Parton at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Additionally, Martsolf has appeared as the lead in two independent films "The Cheater" and "Omum," and in a supporting role in the independent film "If Lucy Fell."
A native of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Martsolf will first be seen as Ethan
Winthrop on Passions on-air, on Monday, July 8, 2002 on NBC (his first tape date is Monday, June 3). To catch a sneak peek of Martsolf, tune into Passions on May 27 when he plays a Harmony cop!

This June, love is in the air as SOAPnet presents the most Unforgettable Weddings in ABC Daytime history. The month-long event kicks off Sunday evening, June 9, 2002 and continues over the following three Sundays during primetime (7PM -12AM ET/PT). GeneralHospital's Kin Shriner (Scotty) and Jacklyn Zeman (Bobbie) will host an original special which will begin each Sunday night marathon and include highlights from Daytime's most memorable weddings as well as stories about and interviews with some of the soap world's most famous couples. Plus, you will be invited to enter SoapNet's "Watch And You Can Win" Sweepstakes by July 8, 2002 with a grand prize valued at over $40,000!
Each Sunday in June, SOAPnet will feature three classic weddings from the ABC soaps: All My Children on June 9, One Life to Live on June 16, Port Charles on June 23 and GeneralHospital on June 30. This year, Kin Shriner and Jacklyn Zeman are both celebrating 25 years since originating their respective roles on ABC'sGeneralHospital. How time flies! :o) After over 4000 episodes on the series as Nurse Bobbie Spencer, Zeman has become to millions of daytime viewers a true contemporary and role model. Honors and awards over the years include four Daytime Emmy Award nominations, including one for Outstanding Lead Actress in 1998, as well as a Soap Opera Digest Award and a Hollywood International Favorite Actress Award.
Shriner created the role of Scotty Baldwin on GeneralHospital in 1977 and continued with the character, off and on, through the early 1990s. After being away from GeneralHospital for several years, Shriner returned to Port Charles, the spin-off, which premiered in June 1997. He has been nominated for four Daytime Emmys and has been honored with numerous Soap Opera Awards including a 1998 win for Outstanding Scene Stealer.

Daytime Shines at the 2002 ALMA Awards -- 2-Hour Special to Air June 1, 2002 on ABC
The National Council of La Raza (NCLR) held the 2002 ALMA Awards on Saturday, May 18, at the historic Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Actor/comedian Paul Rodriguez (Tortilla Soup, Ali) hosted the event, which airs on ABC on June 1 from 8-10 p.m. (ET/PT). The ALMA Awards (American Latino Media Arts Awards), executive produced by Ken Ehrlich, is the only Latino-themed primetime award show honoring outstanding artistic achievement and the enhancement of the Latino image in entertainment, including film, television and music.

NBC soap fans hang on to your remotes! NBC Daytime has some great news for you including merchandise opportunities and exclusive insight into daytime programming storylines and characters when the new "Soap Style" series premieres!
NBC Enterprises, ShopNBC (NASDAQ: VVTV), and NBC Daytime today announced a strategic marketing, commerce and entertainment alliance that will result in opportunities for product placement on "Days of Our Lives" and "Passions" and a new series on ShopNBC entitled "Soap Style."
Debuting in mid-July, "Soap Style" will give you the opportunity to purchase select merchandise that has adorned the NBC Daytime stars and sets. Live every other Saturday afternoon on ShopNBC, the program will also offer viewers exclusive storyline previews, behind-the-scenes footage from "Days of our Lives" and "Passions," soap trivia, contests and live interviews with the NBC Daytime personalities.

But standing in the way was Livvie, hell-bent on a vendetta against Alison and preventing her from ever reuniting with Rafe, leaving Jack and Jamal caught in the middle. While the whole town was turned upside down, the magic candles had a profound impact on Frank and Karen. On "All My Children," when an intoxicated Bianca got rejected after making advances towards Maggie, she drove off and crashed her car. Bianca survived, but the situation turned into another excuse for Erica to hold Kendall responsible. Shortly thereafter, Erica's plan to get rid of Kendall came to a head. However, when Kendall went to extremes, Ryan came to her rescue. In the meantime, Leo told Vanessa that he and Greenlee got engaged. Vanessa was less than delighted. Trey was on the verge of being exposed to all of PineValley. To avoid it, he went to drastic lengths, putting Mia in more of an uncomfortable position, not to mention Kendall's arrest for the crime. David's genuine love for Anna continued to grow, along with his desire to create a family life, but Vanessa, as always, stood in his way. Hayley noticed Mateo had become a man obsessed on getting revenge. Now that Liza is out of the hospital, will she be able to trust Adam, or will she continue to make her secretive plans? Roger and Simone share an intimate past, but will his feelings for Simone prove to be more than she bargained for? And what about Leo and Greenlee's wedding plans? One Life to Live
First time Emmy Award-winning "One Life to Live" made television history in May 2002 when the 33-year old soap opera aired live from New York, May 13-17. Leading up to this unprecedented week of daytime television, deception, secrets and the past threatened to cause trouble for the citizens of Llanview. In order to keep the truth hidden and save his marriage to Blair, Todd was forced to resort to desperate measures when his son became dangerously ill. Sam was extremely close to discovering Todd's terrible secret and a conversation with Nellie gave Sam the answers he needed. In the meantime, Gabrielle's involvement in keeping Todd's secret jeopardized her growing friendship with Bo until she finally came totally clean. Determined to stay in control over Viki and enjoy her new-found freedom, Niki Smith used her active imagination to plot to get rid of Ben. With Jessica's help, the police were able to get a confession from Allison that she drove Jessica and Seth off of the road. Roxy inadvertently revealed something about her past to Jessica and Jessica learned the shocking truth when she questioned Natalie about her childhood. Carlotta's animosity towards Keri began to grow again, after she made an upsetting discovery, thanks to RJ. But Antonio and Keri weathered the storm. Nora and Troy explored their feelings for each other. Now that Lindsay is finally paying for her crimes against Nora, she found herself face to face with a new enemy in prison. Not one to stay down for long, Lindsay found a way to get to Troy. Al couldn't let Jen and Cristian enjoy their long awaited reunion, even after Max intervened to stop his son from interfering. This all led to Max and Roxy getting hitched, Jessica finding out she had a brother and his moving in with her family, a trip to Central Park and much more, and it was all live on "One Life to Live Live," May 13-17! On "GeneralHospital," Sonny remained conflicted between Alexis and Carly, as an unexpected twist -- Carly's being presumed dead -- crystallized his feelings and forced him to make a choice. Speaking of Carly, Zander's feelings for Carly intensified. Meanwhile, AJ and Courtney were married, as each learned unexpected truths about the other, and AJ risked Courtney's love to reclaim his son. AJ's grandfather, Edward, advised him to use Courtney to his advantage. Alan and Monica reached the breaking point again over AJ. They were even further estranged as Rae made a return visit, which Monica did not appreciate. She wanted Alan out of the house! A family tragedy propelled Luke and Laura into a mystery which they are working together to solve. Bobbie and Scott moved closer to romance, but their tumultuous past and volatile present could drive them apart. Roy and Felicia were thrown together on the trail of a mystery and continued to enjoy each other's company. Jax and Skye got closer, trying to build a bond of trust. However, Skye could lose him completely, as she is tempted to return to her old tricks. After her break-up with Lucky, Elizabeth took risks trying to prove her independence, as a guilty Lucky fought his mutual attraction with Elizabeth's sister Sarah. Meanwhile, a secret from Sarah's past had life-altering consequences for all three. Nikolas and Gia tried to rebuild their lives, following Nikolas' estrangement from his brother, Lucky. Their future was in jeopardy from Gia's brother, Taggert, who vowed to make Nikolas pay for his role in Helena's escape. Ned and Kristina reached the brink of a commitment, but Kristina hesitated, concerned that Ned sees her only as a substitute for her sister, Alexis. What's to come now in Port Charles? Passions Welcomes SuperModel/Actor Michael Bergin to Recurring Role
Actor and super-model Michael Bergin joined the cast of NBC's hit daytime drama Passions in the recurring role of Nick Bozman.
"The character of Nick Bozman is a strikingly attractive but very shady man who wants payback from Brian (Antonio) for a score that was long ago unsettled. He arrives on the island of St. Lisa's and becomes integral in the story-line of Brian, Diana and Liz," said Executive Producer, Lisa S. Hesser.
Bergin, who had been modeling for top designers such as Valentino, Hugo Boss and Donna Karan, achieved super-model status when he was hired by Calvin Klein to take over for Mark Wahlberg in Klein's sizzling and sexy underwear ads. Bergin moved from modeling to acting when he was hired to portray lifeguard J.D. Darius on Baywatch: Hawaii, which he did for four years. He recently finished filming The Wolves of Wall Street with Eric Roberts, which is scheduled for release in 2003. Passions marks Bergin's first role in daytime television.
Born on March 19 in Naugatuck, Connecticut, Bergin currently resides in Los Angeles and is passionate about raising his two-year-old son, Jesse.
Passions Comes to WDIV Local 4 in Detroit Beginning June 3, 2002
Beginning Monday, June 3, 2002 NBC's wickedly enchanting daytime drama Passions comes home to NBC in Detroit on WDIV Local 4. The witching hour in Detroit begins at 2:00 p.m. as "Passions" takes its place on the schedule following "Days of our Lives."

Passions:On Monday, May 27 Marianne Muellerleile (Norma) returns in the recurring role of Peggy, Jeannetta Arnette begins a recurring role as Flo the waitress in the diner with Timmy and Eric Martsolf portrays the Harmony cop. On Thursday, May 30 Alan Oppenheimer returns in his role as the voice of Alistair Crane and Bruce French returns in his role as Father Lonigan. On Friday, May 31 Sandra Thigpen portrays the Harmony District Attorney and Gregory White portrays Judge Harris. Beginning on Monday, June 3, KNBC-TV and STAR 98.7 Radio's Traffic and Weather Anchor, Andrea Jackson, will begin a short- term recurring role (three episodes) as the "TV Reporter." Eric Martsolf has been signed to the contract role of Ethan Winthrop. His first airdate as Ethan is is July 8, 2002.
