Hi Suds Buds:

This week's column is a day late.  Boy oh boy.  Yesterday (Monday, September 29) flew by, before I had the chance to get this week’s Top of the Week written and online!  And today is half over as well.

Where do all the hours go?  There are just not enough hours in the day.  Building a business like Soapdom takes so very much time, energy, and attention.  It’s like I live, eat, and breathe soaps.  LOL  For some of you that may sound like tons of fun.  After all, we get to cover great events, like just this past weekend, we got to party with Rowdy, Seth Hall (Reese, PAS) and Bruce Michael Hall’s (Joey, OLTL) rocking, hillbilly, honky tonk, country band!  (Look for our Rowdy coverage later this week!)

Cool and fun as it was, it took my Saturday evening -- and part of Sunday to produce the photos.  Not only do I live, eat, and breathe soaps for 12-14 hours a day during the week, but on weekends, too!

Dare I say it, but this week, I am feeling a tad soaped out. LOL I am sure it will pass, but even your QueenRuler can get overdosed on soaps every once in a while.

Which is not uncommon.  Many fans write Soapdom saying that they are fed up, or bored, or simply just want to cut bait with their soaps for a while.  One member recently shared with us that she was so addicted to Days of our Lives and Bold and the Beautiful, it was interfering with the rest of her life!  She chose to quit, cold turkey!  No more soaps.  At least, not for a while. I totally understand where she is coming from.

Perhaps some of my disenchantment this week also has to do with the cancellation of Port Charles.  Another soap bites the dust.

What does this say for the industry as a whole?  Time will tell!

Coming SOON to Soapdom.com

Til the top of next week,
