Dear Suds Buds!
Ho Ho Ho and Happy Holidays everyone. It's Christmas week and I hope that everyone is home, safe and sound, celebrating the holiday with friends and family. At this time of year I always think back about all the wonderful things that have happened over the last 12 months: Meeting all of you, TRO's cyber soap fans and having the opportunity of interacting with you online; working with talented writers and contributors like Jessica Radloff, Karen Wolitzer, Mary Montanari, Lesleyann Medieros and our fan contributors; and, inching closer and closer toward making our cyber soap home more improved and dynamic for your enjoyment.
It's also a time of year to reflect on some of the not so wonderful: The tragic events of September 11th, and all the innocent lives lost. I pray now for their loved ones left behind. I pray now for world peace, and I look toward happier times in the years ahead.
On our own little cyber home front, I thank everyone of you for helping to make the past year at Turtle-Run so much fun. Thank you to NBC Daytime, ABC Daytime, Procter & Gamble's Televest, CBS Daytime, SoapNet, and all the amazing actors, agents, managers and publicists who work with us each week. Special thanks to Ninth Degree! All of us at Turtle-Run.com wish you all a very wonderful and joyous holiday. Many blessings in the New Year!

GH's Nancy Lee Grahn Decks the Tub for Rose Parade
On Friday, December 28, 2001, Ivory Soap returns to its soap opera roots as floral decorations are applied to the "once upon a bath time" Ivory Soap float by General Hospital's Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis). More than 17-feet high, 18-feet wide and 50-feet long, the "Once Upon a Bath Time" Ivory Soap float depicts a classic bath time scene based on Ivory Soap advertising from the early 1900s. On the parade day, the Ivory Soap float will a trail of Ivory-scented bubbles and have running water into the tub. "GeneralHospital" star Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) will assist volunteers and fellow soap opera fans in decorating the float with more than 650,000 blossoms. Ivory Soap has a strong connection with soap operas, as the long-running daytime dramas were dubbed soap operas because Ivory Soap and other soap companies were frequent advertisers on the programs. Ivory Soap began advertising on soap operas in the 1930s.
Ivory Soap is participating in the 2002 Tournament of Roses Parade to celebrate 120 years of national advertising. Recognized for decades as The Soap That Floats(TM), Ivory created its Tournament of Roses float to recreate bath time for a classic Ivory baby. A natural extension of its legacy as a household staple, the presence of Ivory Soap in this year's Tournament of Roses Parade represents the joining of two longstanding American traditions. This is the first created for the parade by Procter & Gamble and Ivory Soap.
