More tales from the stars!Susan Lucci presents La Lucci
"I think that this fragrance was in my mind even when we launched Invitation," said Susan Lucci to a room full of reporters during Super Soap Weekend 5. "The first fragrance, Invitation, is the classically beautiful, feminine, sensual fragrance. And that is how it should be when you launch a fragrance. But we knew that we also wanted to come out with a casual, sassy, upbeat fragrance."
Ergo, Lucci and her team of talented French parfumers developed LaLucci. "It's an eau d'cologne," she explained. "Not only does it make you smell great, it makes you feel great because the ingredients in the fragrance have those properties." She went on to list a myriad of exotic ingredients and how they will help you feel your best. "There is tangerine, and even kumquat," she shared and giggled when she said, "Kumquat is a Chinese herb that is a good luck symbol for attracting wealth. So hey, not only will you smell good, you will maybe get wealthy!"
Susan revealed that it was Regis Philbin who made the name LaLucci so popular. "He has called me LaLucci on his show for years," she said, "and he has always made me laugh. (The name) stuck! So fans often will stop me, and a lot of people will say Susan, a lot of people will say Erica, but a lot of people will say LaLucci. It just stuck. It makes me happy. It's a happy name. I've been called this around the studio at All My Children, too, by Felicia Mini Behr, our former executive producer, now one of our programming execs, and Henry Kaplan our first senior, and very long-term, director. It has a really warm place in my heart." What better name for a sassy, casual, upbeat fragrance from Pine Valley's reigning diva? Reasonably priced, LaLucci is on sale now at http://www.susanlucci.com or call toll free 877-LaLucci to place your order.
Galen Gering (Luis, Passions)
"They really don't want us to say much about what's happening on the show right now and how it may change things," said Gering in regard to the current Sheridan is Dead storyline. "They are keeping me kind of in the dark, too. Even I don't know what all they have in mind. All I can say is I hope that somehow, someway we (Sheridan and Luis) will be able to live happily ever after."
Kevin Spirtas (Craig, DOOL)
"I am grateful for having the opportunity to work on DOOL," said Spirtas about his being a member of the cast for several years. "When the fans let me know how much they enjoy my work, I am reminded that I am in the right place doing the right thing. I am grateful for that, too! The turnout at FanFest was amazing, and I would go back in a minute to do it all again!"
Melissa Reeves (Jennifer, DOOL)
"I get to work with Peter (Reckell, Bo), so that's a plus," said Reeves in regard to her returning to Days of Our Lives. "I didn't know I was going to get to work with Pete, so that was definitely an added plus. We are having a good time. There were a lot of things that fell into place and made me decide to come back to the show. It was really great of them to welcome me back."
Cameron Mathison (Ryan, AMC)
On taking the character back a few notches to the Ryan of old "I am enjoying that very much. Even to have a tiny bit of that back in the character is great. But depending on what happens with Gillian in the near future, I still think that is something that needs to be a part of the character. The business side of him with IncredibleDreams.com and tasting success a little bit. That was who he was. It hasn't really come up in the last year as much, but now this (story) is bringing it out a little more. It's a lot more fun for me to go back and forth. He still has Gillian in his heart, but there is a part of him that is a bit of a troublemaker, but still a guy with good intentions."
On working with David Canary "I love it. When I heard that I was going to be working more with him - it's like going to acting school. The guy is so great. If there is anybody in this business as a whole that I could look at and try to emulate -- and I am not sucking up to anybody, I am just saying flat out to anybody who is asking me - it would have to be that man. He takes the work very seriously. He cares about his work. He is a kind and genuine man. He is great to the fans. He is humble. He's got a great family, and he has had a long, long career. As far as I am concerned, he is the man. I love working with him."
On the joys of living in Pine Valley and the ease in getting ID.com off the ground "(In Pine Valley) there is so much money to go around. I am still trying to figure out how Ryan was able to raise that money so easily, especially since he was in jail for embezzlement. And now he's buying yachts, and stuff. Wow!"
On Ryan's next love interest if Gillian and Ryan don't get back together "Let me think for a second. Erica Kane? Who do I think they would put me with? It would probably be somebody like the new Laura, or Greenlee. I would assume it would be someone in the younger category. Or, Erica Kane. Or Liza! I love working with Marcy (Walker), too! There's another actor who is awesome. Like a battle between Adam and Ryan for Liza! Wow. That would be interesting! But right now, Ryan only has eyes for Gillian. It's either Gillian, or it is meaningless sex and his company."
On his new vintage car "I recently bought a 1965 Mustang fastback. It is a real meaningful thing for me. I was looking to buy one for a long time. It is ice blue with white racing stripes. Mint, mint condition. I carry a photo of it with me!"
Esta Terblanche (Gillian, AMC)
On working with J.Eddie Peck (new Jake) "It's been wonderful. He is a wonderful guy to work with. But I have to say that of course I miss working with Cameron. That's just the way it is. J. Eddie is great, but I miss working with Cameron. I just do. Having a new actor in the role of Jake definitely does make a difference. You have to get used to a whole new person, even though you have this whole history. You have to pretend that you have known each other for so long, but basically, you have just met each other. I miss Michael Lowry (ex Jake). Michael was great. I loved working with him. Not that I don't like working with Eddie, I am not saying that, but the more time you spend with somebody, the closer you get to them, and the more you get used to working with them. You get a whole relationship going. So, I am sure that same thing will happen with J. Eddie."
On the character of Gillian "She used to be this trampy girl, this bad girl. Then she became really good. Now, it's time to be really bad again, I think!"
On Ryan's next love interest if Gillian and Ryan don't get back together "Nobody!"
On Gillian's next love interest if Gillian Ryan don't get back together (With tongue in cheek) "I think they should put Gillian and Bianca together!"
On the Presidential election and American citizenship "I could not vote because I am not a citizen. But if all goes well, I will be a citizen soon. I have my first official appointment on Tuesday at 2 o'clock. So the whole process is starting. It will probably take a few years, but it is starting!"
Stay tuned next week for more tales from the stars!!
Breaking News!Titans Gets the Ax
I awoke this morning to news that Titans was cancelled by NBC. I anticipated as much, once they took it off the Wednesday night and rescheduled it for Monday. Although I was not tracking the ratings per se, the "lead in" numbers for West Wing and Law & Order must have been pretty bad, which is why the network made the schedule change. On the NBC's behalf I must say that they gave Titans a great time slot initially, as Wednesday night is NBC's must see hour-long drama big night. Still, I am sad that they have cancelled the show. Certainly far from Shakespeare, we will never know if the story telling would have eventually griped us, because the show has been nipped in the bud. For those of you who were really getting into Titans, and will miss not getting to know more about the characters and stories, snail mail the powers that be at the address below. Good luck!
