Hi Suds Buds:

Wow, is it only because I work in the daytime industry, or has Daytime Emmy fever taken over everything? It seems wherever I turn, there’s something Emmyish around.

Lifetime is running Intimate Portraits of daytime divas, beginning with Susan Lucci (Erica) on Monday, then Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki, Y&R) on Tuesday, Erika Slezak (Viki, OLTL) on Wednesday, Deidre Hall (Marlena, DOOL) on Thursday and Genie Francis (Laura, GH) on Friday.

All week long the syndicated game show, Pyramid, has soap stars as contestants. Daytime nominees Erin Hershey Presley (Alison, Port Charles) and Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis, GH) will co-host on the view Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.

This year, the ABC network has expanded the Daytime Emmy broadcast to a full three hours. There’s been tons of hype regarding the new production team and Wayne Brady as host.

Plus, Michael Logan’s TV Guide piece this week enumerated the 10 most memorable soap moments that will be showcased on the Emmy Broadcast, and the hosts of The View will have a special Emmy Broadcast segment discussing the winners so far.

Last weekend, in both New York and Los Angeles, the Emmy Committee announced the winners of the Creative Craft Awards and All My Children snagged 7 in the technical and creative categories.

Yup. It’s Daytime Emmy time alright. Make no mistake about it!  With all this Emmy activity, I sure as heck can’t wait to tune into the show and see who will take home the Emmy this year.  Do you have your favorites?   Who do you want to win?
