Dear Suds Buds:
From one soapstar with a successful new business venture to others participating in fun events for charity, there is once again, tons of news to share with you! But before we get to it, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all so very much for bearing with us as we overcome our growing pains. Last week we experienced a major glitch with our message boards. As a result, some long-standing and wonderful registered posters lost their registrations, and had to start all over again from scratch as Junior Members. To those whose registrations got corrupted, and to everyone else who experienced the downtime in our boards, I apologize for the inconvenience. As most of you know, we are operating at peak capacity on our current servers, and sometimes these glitches can happen. Know that we are continuing to work toward rectifying the entire kit and kabootle, and will have big news to report in the not too distant future!
I also want to thank everyone for supporting our sponsors. It is important that we support them, and I know that many of you have hooked into wonderful new services as a result of two things: 1) our offering advertisments here at Turtle Run and 2), your willingness to click and investigate their wares. Thanks again, and I am delighted that you are benefiting from our sponsor's offerings.
And now, on with the latest in Soaps!

Passions' Travis Schuldt on the Big Screen
New York metropolitan area "Passions" fans mark your calendars! The award-winning short film, "Midsummer," starring Travis Schuldt (Ethan, "Passions") will be screening Monday, September 10, 2001 in New York City as part of the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival.
In this edgy adaptation of a classic Shakespearean tale, a young man (Ashley Wood) must come to terms with his feelings for his best friend, a beautiful but manipulative girl (Domenica Cameron-Scorsese) who finds herself torn between him and her fiancee (Travis Schuldt). "Midsummer" received the 1999 Silver Axiem Award for Film Directing (recognizing excellence in the application of electronic and digital technologies in filmmaking); the 1999 Fort Worth Film Festival's Independent Film Award; the Grand Jury Prize for work-in-progress films at the 1999 Deep Ellum Film Festival in Dallas; the Best Experimental award at the 2000 Sea to Sky Film Festival in Canada; and the Gold Award at the 2000 Crested Butte Reel Fest in Colorado. "Midsummer" was listed as one of the "top ten films to look forward to" in 1999 by Corona Coming Attractions, and earned Cameron-Scorsese and director James Kerwin an invitation to sit on a select panel of Shakespearean filmmakers and scholars at the 2000 Hudson Valley Film Festival.
"Midsummer" combines its smart, sexy style with a contemporary soundtrack, engaging characters, exotic visual effects, and a mystically surreal atmosphere. Experimenting with the darker undercurrents of the human psyche, "Midsummer" serves as an exploration of the disturbing depths to which people will sink for the sake of love. Set against a psychedelic backdrop of techno clubs and urban alleyways, the film uniquely merges elements of antiquity such as alchemy and astrology with modern ingredients like electronica.
The film screens at 6:00 pm on Monday, September 10 at the Sutton II Theatre (East 57th St. at 3rd Ave.). Tickets are $10 and include admission to "Midsummer" and the feature film "Skelton Women." To purchase, call 1-866-468-7619 or visit http://ticketweb.com/user/?region=nyc&query=detail&event=258438
Travis encourages his fans in New York to come out and support the project. If you don't live in New York, please try to spread the word to people who do! Remember, the more successful the short film is on the festival circuit, the better the chances are of "Midsummer" being completed as a full-length feature film.

Soaps Wedding Dresses Walk Down The Aisle For Charity
This fall, Korbel Champagne Cellars and the Entertainment Industry Foundation are collecting "everything bridal" for a good cause. Celebrities, costume designers and producers are invited to participate in the "Korbel Ultimate Bridal Auction" by donating bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses, veils, tuxedos or other wedding attire accessories.
Contributions will join already-donated famous bridal attire, including Jennifer Love Hewitt's veil from her role in the MGM movie Heartbreakers, popular actress Heather Graham's wedding dress worn in the Miramax movie Committed, Emmy award-winner Sela Ward's wedding dress worn in the popular ABC drama Once and Again; Jane Seymour's wedding dress from her former CBS show, Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman; Kristian Alfonso's wedding dress from her role as Hope Brady in the popular NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives; Hunter Tylo's wedding dress from her role as Taylor Hales Forrester in the well-known CBS daytime drama Bold and the Beautiful; Laura Wright's elaborate beaded gown worn in her role as Princess Cassandra "Cassie" Layne Winslow on CBS's popular Guiding Light and wedding gowns from the Renee Zellweger-Chris O'Donnell New Line Cinema 1999 hit film, The Bachelor.
These items will tour across the country at "sneak peek" champagne soiree events, where fans and wedding enthusiasts will have a chance to view the gowns first hand, as well as bid on exclusive Nicole Miller gowns, speak with experts about wedding fashions and taste new champagne cocktail creations for bridal celebrations from a master mixologist.
But in case you can't make any of the soirees, just go online to catch a glimpse of the notorious wedding gowns at www.korbel.com.
The bridal attire will walk down the aisle to the auction block during a ten-day online auction on eBay (www.eBay.com/charity) in October and will benefit the Entertainment Industry Foundation, the "heart and soul" of the entertainment industry, supporting charitable initiatives that address some of the most critical issues facing our society.
"People in the entertainment industry, like celebrities, producers and costume designers, generously give back," said Cathy James, director of industry campaigns, Entertainment Industry Foundation. "This auction is one of the ways Hollywood uses its resources to make a difference."
Founded in 1942, the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) has enriched the lives of thousands of people by coordinating the entertainment industry's philanthropic efforts. EIF outreach has addressed critical issues and improved the quality of life through public education and prevention awareness programs and targeted research. EIF is a California-based 501 (c)3 non-profit organization.
