Above the law, A fascinating Lucci, Soap Seen and Made for tv

Hi Suds Buds!

Turtle-Run is proud to rollout the second phase of our Sneak Peeks, Sneakier Peeks and Daily Episode Guide features by introducing the entire ABC soap lineup as part of our offering. From now on, you can sneak a peek at what's about to happen in Port Charles, All My Children, One Life to Live and General Hospital right here at Turtle-Run. We will also provide daily episode recaps of all four ABC shows. We are delighted to be working in tandem with ABC to offer you these added features.

Now, I have a question for you. Have you ever noticed that on soap operas characters can sometimes get away with murder (literally at times) and never really be made to pay for their misdeeds? On AMC, Adam Chandler switched sperm samples. Dr. Dave manipulated medical records and caused Liza to have an unnecessary medical procedure against her better judgment. (Thanks to AMC's Adam and Liza fans for reminding me of that one on theTRO AMC message boards!) On Passions, Dr. Eve torched Orville's apartment. On OLTL, Lindsay's done a mess of switching. Okay, so we can say that she is being punished because she's lost Bo and now Bo's baby, but isn't there a law regarding tampering? On ATWT Katie is getting into all sorts dubious territory. And yet, all these characters are walking the streets of their respective fictional towns, going about their daily lives, with no one giving a second thought to the fact that they have committed some crime. I may not be selecting the best examples, and I am sure there are better ones that I have neglected to mention, but have you ever asked yourself why it's okay to get away with murder on a soap, and we, the audience, don't seem to mind? Or do we?

Is this only my imagination or are there any instances of this "getting away with murder" syndrome that you can recall from your favorite show? How did the character redeem themselves, without necessarily being prosecuted by law? If they were prosecuted by law, were you satisfied with the way that was carried out? Please post your thoughts on the TRO Message Boards.
