BURBANK, Calif. (August 11, 2006) - SOAPnet, the new way to watch soaps, is pleased to announce Mikey Jerome of Hicksville, NY as the winner of the third installment of its reality series, "I Wanna Be A Soap Star."  Jerome can be seen in his role on ABC's "One Life to Live" beginning today, Friday, August 11.

Jerome, who originally hails from New York, and most recently Dana Point, CA, beat out 9 other aspiring actors for the coveted role on "One Life to Live."  The finale, which aired Thursday, August 10th, pitted him against Kelly McGarry, another New York native.  During their final scene, a funeral, host and "All My Children" cast member Cameron Mathison popped out of a casket to reveal to Jerome he had won.

Jerome will be playing the role of Ted on ABC's "One Life to Live."  Ted is a former cop-turned-bodyguard who works for shady businessman Vincent Jones.
