MARCO ISLAND, FL (April 1, 2004) Save the dates and join the best in daytime television as soap stars return to Marco Island to renew old friendships and raise money for the Marco Island Film Festival’s Young Filmmaker Program. On May 15-16, 2004 stars from All My Children, As the World Turns and Guiding Light will mingle with Southwest Florida residents and visitors during three days of boat cruises, parties, golf, and fun – fun – fun.

The event kicks off on Saturday, May 15th at 11:00 am with our popular “Brunch in Springfield.” This years event will be held at the “new” Marriott Hotel on Marco Island and will feature photo opportunities with such Springfield and Oakdale residents as: Reva Shayne, Beth Raines, Frank Cooper, C. Blake Thorpe Marler, Gus Aitoro, Emily Munson, Holden Snyder and Dr. Chris Hughes.  Celebrity guests from today’s hottest daytime shows “Guiding Light” and “As the World Turns” will be available for autograph signing, photos, Q &A, auctions, trivia contest, and our festival favorite “April Fool” script reading.   This event sells out fast so get your tickets early.  Tickets are $65 per person.
The fun continues later that night as we hop aboard the beautiful Marco Island Princess for an evening “Cruise with the Stars” at 9:00 pm.  Rub elbows with daytime’s best on this two-hour cruise under the stars.  Cruise tickets are limited at $50 per person.

Then on Sunday, May 16th, it’s off to the golf course for our Celebrity Golf Tournament that features a host of daytime’s best golfers as they team up with local residents and visitors in a scramble format tournament with an 8:30 am shotgun start.  Golfers will enjoy a continental breakfast, 18-holes of golf, followed by a luncheon and awards ceremony.  The cost for golf is $150.  Celebrity Caddy/Driver tickets will be available to non-golfers at $125.  It allows you to escort and drive the cart for the celebrity of your choice (on a first come-first serve basis) while participating in the other festivities surrounding the day of golf. Spectators can purchase tickets for $40 per person.  All golf tickets include lunch. 

Additionally scheduled for non-golfers on Sunday is a VIP private yacht Champagne “Dolphin Watch” and Island Tour.  Join two of soaps hunkiest as we hold them captive aboard the Ramblin Rose on Sunday morning.  This VIP tour departs at 10:30 am and includes food and beverages and lots of sun.   Tickets are limited at a cost of $100.

And the list continues to grow.  The Marco Island Film Festival takes place November 3-8 encompassing all aspects of film production, recognizing and honoring independent filmmakers and student cinematography from around the world. The Festival, in its eighth year and is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
