May 29, 2003…Los Angeles, CA…Actress Danica Stewart has been cast in the contract role of Jessica Bennett, the beautiful and sometimes overlooked youngest daughter of Sam and Grace, on the Emmy Award winning daytime drama, PASSIONS, it was announced today.

Stewart's previous credits include the role of "Maxie Jones" on General Hospital, the Aaron Spelling pilot "Home of the Brave" and guest star roles on CSI: Miami and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

The role of Jessica was originated by  Mary Elizabeth Winstead who left the show in 2000 when the contract role went to recurring status.  Winstead was replaced by Jade Harlow who will continue in the role until Stewart's first air date which will be July 10, 2003. 

Stewart was born on August 2 and hails from Seattle, Washington. Her hobbies include dance, gymnastics, cheerleading, roller blading and skiing.

Since the series debut on July 5, 1999, PASSIONS' quirky characters and classic love stories have generated interest and critical acclaim from the daytime community (PASSIONS was nominated for eight Emmy Awards in its sophomore year as well as numerous Soap Opera Digest awards), as well as the press, TV Guide (Best Soap 1999 and 2000), Entertainment Weekly ("...comedy, drama, camp classic, soap send up, 'Passions' works."), USA Today ("..has a gift for head-turning plots.") and Rolling Stone and Entertainment Weekly both named it (a "Hot, Guilty Pleasure").

Based on the rich history and mystery of the harbor community of Harmony, PASSIONS explores the lives, loves and losses of four core families: the Cranes, the Lopez-Fitzgeralds, the Bennetts and the Russells, each of whom have their own distinct and diverse challenges and desires.

PASSIONS, about to begin its fifth season, is the creation of celebrated daytime drama veteran James E. Reilly, who is considered by many industry insiders to be one of the most innovative and prolific writers of his time. PASSIONS is produced by NBC Studios in association with Outpost Farms Productions, Inc. and is taped in Studio City, CA. Lisa de Cazotte is the executive producer. PASSIONS premiered on NBC on July 5, 1999.
