Oscar-Nominated Gloria Stuart to Guest Star on GH
Includes Major Scoopage
Academy Award-nominated actress Gloria Stuart (Titanic) sets sail for a guest-starring role on ABC Daytime’s No.1 drama, General Hospital. Stuart will play Catherine, the wife of a legendary Port Charles gangster, in the New Year’s episode set to air Tuesday, December 31, 2002.
Here’s the set up. When Carly (Tamara Braun) and Ric (Rick Hearst) stumble upon a speakeasy, Catherine (Gloria Stuart) tells them a haunting tale of New Year’s Eve 1926 that resonates with Carly’s fears for her husband, Sonny (Maurice Benard) and his dangerous business. The story unfolds as characters from present-day General Hospital portray their 1920’s counterparts in vintage black and white scenes, paying homage to the “Roaring 20’s.” Does that mean bathtub gin, the Charleston, and tons of long beads? You’ll have to tune into General Hospital this New Year’s Eve and see!
Stuart was most recently seen in the Academy Award-winning motion picture, Titanic, which earned her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
General Hospital consistently ranks as the highest-rated Daytime drama among key demographic of Women, 18-49. In May of 2000, General Hospital made Daytime Emmy history as the only Daytime drama ever to receive the prestigious Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series a record seven times. Created by Frank and Doris Hursley, Jill Farren Phelps is the executive producer. Charles Pratt, Jr. and Robert Guza, Jr. are head writers.
