Reynolds Shares the African-American Experience For a Limited Run at the Fremont Centre Theatre Beginning April 20, 2003
James Reynolds has long enjoyed a national fan following for his portrayal of detective Commander Abe Carver on the daytime TV drama "Days Of Our Lives." Midway through his twenty-year span on that show, he spent a season starring in the groundbreaking daytime serial "Generations" portraying Henry Marshall, a role that earned him an Emmy nomination.
He is also one of the artistic directors of Fremont Centre Theatre in
South Pasadena, where his show "I, Too, Am America" will be performed. He
created the show 20 years ago and has often toured with it throughout the
years. Reynolds portrays more than 20 different characters including Paul
Robeson, Sojourner Truth, Deadwood Dick, and his own family members. He
describes the show as "an evening of sharing the experiences, thoughts, and
feelings throughout history as seen through the eyes of musicians, historia ns, ex-slaves, poets, artists, teachers, and others who have contributed to
the vastness of the African-American experience."
After each performance, Mr. Reynolds will answer questions and answers
from the audience.
James Reynolds is the recipient of numerous accolades, including NAACP
Image Award nominations for his television work, numerous stage awards, and a designation as a Great Kansan by the Kansas State Historical Society.

USO Launches New Celebrity Tour Program
WASHINGTON, March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Actor James Reynolds becomes the first to participate in the USO Celebrity Education Program -- a new tour opportunity for celebrities to showcase their talents and demonstrate their appreciation for service members and their families.
The Vietnam veteran and former Marine will visit Department of Defense Education Activity schools in Kaiserslautern, Germany, March 26-30. Reynolds will give talks to students, hold question-and-answer sessions, sign autographs and meet with after-school clubs. He intends to emphasize to students the importance of staying in school and continuing their educations, as well as learning about the arts.
Last December, Reynolds toured with other "Days of Our Lives" cast members, visiting service members stationed in the Mediterranean. It was his second USO tour.
Reynolds portrays police commander Abe Carver on the NBC Emmy Award- winning soap opera "Days of Our Lives." He also can be seen on NBC's soap opera "Generations" as Henry Marshall, for which he received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. Reynolds has made numerous stage appearances, including a starring role in "Buffalo Soldier," a play depicting black U.S. Army troops in the American West following the Civil War. He was nominated for an NAACP Theatre Award for this role. Reynolds also runs the Freemont Centre Theater in Los Angeles and Free State Productions, a film and television production company in Kansas.
