In AMC Buzz, it appears to be official. Rebecca Budig (Greenlee) has written a note to her fans saying that she loves her role on AMC, loves everyone she works with, but now it may be time to pursue other endeavors. Or something to that effect. She doesn't come right out and say she's riding off into the sunset and leaving Pine Valley in the dust, but it does appear that this is her telling us she's about to move on. Given her popularity, I can''t help but wonder if ABC is grooming her for something else. A sitcom? A talk show? Stay tuned. http://www.rebeccabudig.org/newsletter.htm (Contributed by LMS)

The episode showcases Daniel and Lily's reunion after he is acquitted for Cassie's death and features a special performance by the musical group Il Divo, a gift from Victor to Nikki. OLTL's Kassie DePaiva and "Ladies' Home Journal: Celebrate Your Love"
Emmy-nominated One Life to Live star Kassie DePaiva (Blair Cramer) and her real-life husband James DePaiva (ex Max, OLTL) renewed their wedding vows alongside 76 couples at a Ladies' Home Journal-hosted event at Sandals in Ocho Rios, Jamaica last weekend. The DePaivas serenaded couples during the ceremony with the song Natural History from Kassie's first CD, Naked. It was a family affair. Also renewing their vows were Kassie's brother and her parents, who are celebrating 50 years of marriage. During the Ladies' Home Journal: Celebrate Your Love renewal weekend, Kassie and James also hosted a golf tournament to benefit the League for the Hard of Hearing (their young son JQ is hearing impaired). Event planner to the stars Preston Bailey, whose clients include Oprah and Michael Douglas/Catherine Zeta-Jones, designed the one-of-a-kind seaside celebration. As Days of our Lives nears its 40th anniversary (which it will reach on November 8th), rumors are running rampant that headwriter, James E. Reilly, is dissatisfied and is leaving the show. Soapdom can report that this is a bogus tidbit. "It's absolutely not true," the rep told Soapdom. (Contributed by LMS)
"In AMC Buzz, I don't know about you, but I loved Lamman Rucker as The Dragon," says Soapdom QueenRuler, Linda Marshall-Smith. "His years on ATWT didn't do him justice, as I never really even 'noticed' his character much. But he really impressed me on All My Children." And here's the thing. No sooner did Rucker get killed right out of Pine Valley, he landed a new gig on the UPN sitcom, Half & Half. According to TVGuide online, starting Nov. 21, Rucker will appear in several episodes as Mona's (Rachel True) newest conquest, Chase. "I was killed on AMC on a Monday and booked on Half & Half on Friday," Rucker told TVGO. "It's great! I'm really blessed that it was timed that way." (Contributed by LMS & CL)
TV Guide online is also reporting that GH is promising us more of Rick Springfield as Dr. Noah than just a few episodes. Sounds like GH head writer, Bob Guza is trying to work it out, saying to TVGO, "It seems like he's very interested and we certainly are, so we'd like it to be a much longer run." Remember, the character of Noah has a lot of relationships with some of GH's long running characters, so story material is certainly there for the writing. Plus, GH has spilled the beans that not only has Noah's medical career all but dried up, he's got a son -- who we will meet at some point. Stay tuned. (Contributed by LDB)
Remember back in June at ABC's Fun in the Sun event in Chicago, Renee Goldsberry (Evangeline, OLTL) told buzz that she'll soon have big news. Could it be that she was pregnant? Well...buzz hears that the actress will soon be bringing a little bundle of joy into the world. Trouble is, pregnancy will conflict with her role of Broadway's rendition of The Color Purple. Will it affect her storyline on OLTL? According to our sources at OLTL, there is no decision yet as to whether the pregnancy will be written into the storyline or not. (Contributed by MEW, LDB, LMS)

Kate Linder (Esther, Y&R) is calling her character a "bitch." At least, that's what she told reknown acting coach and author, Scott Sedita at the booksigning for his new book, The Eight Characters of Comedy. According to Sedita, characters can be placed in one of eight categories: the neurotic, the bitch/bastard, the womanizer/manizer, the loveable loser, the logical smart one, the materialstic one, the dumb one, and the one who lives in his own universe. Sedita is credited with helping to launch the careers of former soapers, Josh Duhamel (ex Leo, AMC; Danny McCoy, Las Vegas) and Jennifer Finnigan (ex Bridget, B&B; currently starring in this season's new primetimer, Close to Home.) TV Guide online is reporting that Jake Weary (Luke, ATWT) is being pulled from the show by "stage mom," Kim Zimmer (Reva, GL). Apparently, the storyline for Luke is about to really heat up, and Zimmer is saying that her son has other interests. Namely schooling and sports. A more frontburner story just won't fit into his schedule. Huh? What's really going on here? Fans are not buying Zimmer's excuse. They feel there's more to the story. Weary's last day as Luke is November 29, 2005. The role has already been recast with newcomer Van Hensis who takes over December 14, 2005. Hensis is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University - ATWT EP's Chris Goutman's alma mater. Looks like they are aging Luke. Could this be the real reason 15-year-old Weary is out? According to our sources at PGP, neither is true The character of Will is not going to be aged, and Kim Zimmer and her husband want their son to concentrate on his studies and the sports he loves. Jake's acting will have to go on the backburner for now. (Contributed by CL, LMS & LDB)
In some Where Are They Now Buzz, according to the Hollywood Reporter, looks like Eric Winter (ex-Rex, DOOL) may soon be back in the swing of things. Winter signed a one-year talent-holding deal with 20th Century Fox Television. So, what does that mean exactly? Is he slated for any Fox shows? Not quite. Not yet. A talent holding deal just means that Fox sees Winter's potential and they're paying for exclusive rights on the guy while they look for the right sitcom or drama for him to star in. It also means he can't accept any other show from any other network or studio while he's "on hold." The good news is, Winter gets a paycheck for being off the market while he sits around waiting for the perfect Fox production in which to star. Sweet. (Contributed by MEW & LMS)

Back from Chicago's auditions for I Wanna Be a Soap Star on Saturday, October 22, and everything went well. Met everyone from Soapnet. We were shocked to see each other. He produces the evening news. I also got a grand tour of the studio facilities. I also saw the new set being built that will resemble Good Morning America. B&B's Antonio Sabáto Jr. and 8 Other Actors Sing Their Hearts Out on VH1's New Fall Show, But Can They Sing
Ahmet Zappa Will Host. America Will Decide On The Winner! They can act, model and even box, but can they sing? That's the question VH1 will ask and answer this fall with the new series "But Can They Sing?" when nine celebrities vie for the chance to prove to America whether they should stick to their day job or tough it out over six weeks to become a pop star.
Actors Antonio Sabáto, Jr. (The Bold and the Beautiful), Morgan Fairchild, Joe Pantaliano, Bai Ling, Michael Copon, model Kim Alexis, Carmine Gotti, heavyweight champion Larry Holmes and Latin entertainer/journalist Myrka Dellanos have been chosen to compete against one another in this new original series premiering Sunday, October 30 at 10PM.
Each week, these hopefuls will undergo grueling and intensive training with two prominent vocal coaches and one movement/dance instructor to prepare for their performance in front of a live studio audience at the end of the week.
VH1 will then turn the decision over to America, who will have the chance through online voting at VH1’s broadband network Vspot (vspot.vh1.com), text messaging and a toll free number, to decide who stays and who goes home. The winner of the competition will receive a cash donation to their favorite charity. For more information on “But Can They Sing?” viewers can go to www.VH1.com. (Contributed by LMS)

General Hospital's Kari Wuhrer's last airdate as Reese is November 14. Speculation is that the character will wind up being a victim of her sweetheart's - Sonny (Maurice Benard) - mob trouble. No word on who Sonny's next lady love will be...
...except rumors are circulating that it may be Emily! Sources on the GH set say: Maurice Benard is fine with the pairing of Sonny and Emily (Natalia Livingston). Fans are having some issues based on the fact that it was only a few years ago that Emily dated Sonny's stepson, Juan (Michael Saucedo). The age difference is also a concern, say some, considering Emily is twentysomething and most would assume Sonny is now in his early 40s. (Contributed by LDB)

Guiding Light Goes iPod
CBS will distribute its free podcasts, from 60 Minutes to the long-running soap Guiding Light, on Apple's iTunes Music Store, CBS Digital President Larry Kramer said Monday. The extensive suite of CBS podcasts includes news, entertainment, and sports programming on television, radio, and CBS Digital media sites including CBS.com, CBSNews.com, UPN.com and CBS SportsLine.com.
The content can now be accessed from the iTunes Podcast Directory, as well as CBS Digital media sites, and will be highlighted in customized iTunes pages promoting the full offering of CBS podcasts for each respective CBS Digital Media property. Other audio offerings include CBS's public affairs show, Face The Nation; Survivor Live, which focuses on Survivor: Guatemala; the soap opera roundup CBS Soapbox; NFL Hot Topic; and Fantasy Football: Roster Trends.
As is standard practice with podcasts, once users subscribe to a particular show, iTunes will automatically check to see when there are new episodes, and download them onto the users' computers, so they may then sync them to their iPods.
In his announcement, Kramer did not address the question on everyone's minds: When will CBS begin distributing more than audio content to Apple? The company, of course, just last week debuted a new iPod, which can play streaming video. On the same day, Apple's CEO Steve Jobs announced a deal with Disney to offer five of its premiere television shows, including Lost and Desperate Housewives, through iTunes. (Contributed by LMS)

Days of our Lives, which celebrates its 40th anniversary in November, announced that it is launching Days of our Lives Daily Rewards, the first long-term online viewer rewards program for both a daytime drama and a scripted series. The Days of our Lives Daily Rewards program, which began 10/18/05, is designed to increase viewer frequency through reward incentives and is managed by My Sony, an interactive customer relationship division within Sony Corporation of America.
Viewers can sign up for their free membership by going to www.daysofourlives.com or www.nbc.com/days. Each afternoon, members watch Days of our Lives, log on to Daily Rewards and enter the correct answer to a question from that day's episode in order to earn valuable My Sony points. Members can easily redeem these points for substantial savings on Sony merchandise such as the latest consumer electronics, DVDs, CDs, and more. Daily Rewards members can also redeem points for exclusive Days of our Lives fan experiences, as well as autographed memorabilia, props, collectibles and licensed merchandise.
“We are blessed and thankful that Days of our Lives fans are some of the most fervent television viewers and online participants in the world, and this innovative program will not only help us reward that loyalty, but continue to reach new viewers in the 18-34 demographic where we have enjoyed great success,” said Days of our Lives Executive Producer, Ken Corday. “We’re honored to be the first daytime drama to launch an online viewer rewards initiative in conjunction with Sony Pictures Television, who are pioneers in this area."
Sony Pictures Television and the My Sony team established the first ever, long-term online viewer loyalty program in television history in March 2003 when they launched the Wheel Watchers Club for the popular game show Wheel of Fortune. Since its national launch, the Wheel Watchers Club has signed up more than two million members.
Daily Rewards will receive advertising and marketing support from both the studio and the network, with a media campaign consisting of broadcast, print and online advertising. Print ads will run in Us Weekly and Parenting magazine, and advertising time will be purchased nationally on cable as well as locally on broadcast stations in ten key markets. NBC will support Daily Rewards by running a :20 launch promo within Days of our Lives episodes for the first ten days after the initiative launches. In addition, NBC will continue to support the program with in-show promos and in-show mentions. To learn more about Days of our Lives Daily Rewards, log on to www.daysofourlives.com. I had the great story with Lily and my mother, but not much else." Add to that, commuting from California was beginning to take it's toll on Evans. "It was very expensive and tough on my system... So the producers and I decided it would better serve us all to go back to doing concentrated intervals. I love working on the show so much and look forward to getting back there...But I have so much going on in California."
