Actor David Holcomb who starred as the evil Greg Cooper on ABC's Port Charles, will be making an appearance on the silver screen in a feature film called Stateside. The film, set to premiere in May, stars Rachel Leigh Cook, Val Kilmer, Penny Marshall, Joe Mantenga, Carrie Fisher and Ed Begley, Jr. and follows a rebellious teenager on leave from the Marines who falls in love with a female musician. The relationship is threatened when she develops a mental illness.  Halcomb plays the part of Silvio, a friend of the male lead, played by Jonathan Tucker.

"My character is kind of a cross between Ricky Ricardo and Mick Jagger!" smiles Halcomb.  "He's a cha-cha band leader."  A recent screening of the film had costars raving about David's work, even though he tells Soapdom that most of it ended up on the cutting room floor. But he thoroughly enjoyed the work and admires his director, Reverge Anselmo's, vision.

In addition to this feature film release, Halcomb is working w/ former star of As The World Turns, Todd Rotondi (ex Bryant) and others.  They have a recording due out later this summer.  Halcomb is also making the rounds with more auditions and still receives kind words from fans about his portrayal of Greg Cooper some years ago.  (Contributed by LMS)

On All My Children, look for a familiar old face to turn up soon in Pine Valley.  However, there is NO truth to the rumor that Kelly Ripa (ex-Haley) will return for a one-day appearance.

While over at As the World Turns, look for a love interest to enter Oakdale for a fan fave. Stay tuned!  Plus, Buzz hears that Ben (Peter Paros) is up for a movie role.

Really, really huge Buzz coming out of The Bold and the Beautiful.  The show may be fazing out the Forrester family because Executive Producer Brad Bell believes the show needs a new direction. Stay tuned for some major changes.  Photo CBS

While at Days of our Lives, word from NBC is that after Francis Reid (Alice) becomes a victim of the serial killer in April, the killings will stop. But who will be left?

And on Days sister soap Passions, the show is looking for a new core family.  Cranes, Bennetts and Lopez-Fitzes watch out.

Speaking of NBC's freshman soap, Passions alum Travis Schuldt (ex-Ethan) has been cast in the pilot Gramercy Park, a drama about New York City-based nannies. (Contributed by Sunni)

Robin Christopher (Skye, GH) is expecting her first child with husband, Matt Crane!  Here's the fun part. Crane has just been cast on General Hospital in the role of Ross Duncan!  See Soapdom Casting for more! (Contributed by LMS)

Everyone thought he perished in the fire, but General Hospital's Zander — and his portrayer, Chad Brannon — will return. (The show announced the actor's exit last December.) "It's fast and furious," says Brannon of his speedy comeback. Look for him to cause more trouble for Emily and Nikolas in a dramatic turn of events.  Not only that, there will be a new femme thrown into the Nikolas/Emily/Zander mix. See Soapdom casting for more!  (Contributed by Sunni)

On Days of Our Lives, Victor may be gone, but his spirit will be back to torment those still living in Salem on March 11. "I'm doing ghost appearances as opposed to guest appearances," John Aniston says with a chuckle. Luckily, Victor isn't stuck in eternity in his birthday suit, even though he bit the dust that way. At least, according to the actor.

Aniston declined a big send-off party during his last Days. "I've been sent off before. I already had my cake and ate it," he declares. Instead, he's gearing up for the even bigger send-off of Friends, which stars his daughter Jennifer. "I didn't go to the last [show]. I went to the next-of-the-last taping. So I know what's leading up to the grand finale," he shares. "Beyond that, I'll wait and be surprised like everyone else."

With the Anistons having a little more time on their hands, Dad might get around to planning a vacation. "We're all unemployed, so we're trying to work on that," he quips. But he'll gladly ax the road trip if Jennifer and hubby Brad Pitt decide to start working on their own family. "I'm ready," Aniston says of becoming a proud grandpa. "My part, it's over and done with. Now I'm waiting."  (Contributed by Sunni)

Days of Our Lives' reveal of Marlena as the Salem Stalker generated killer ratings, producing a three-year high for soap and propelling it 24 percent above its average. (Photo NBC)

But General Hospital is proving that a fiery blaze can heat up ratings as well. The show slipped into the No. 1 slot in the 18-49 female demo for the week of February 9 — the second week of the towering inferno story line — tying with Days and reclaimed the heap after a three-month hiatus. Days continues to generate solid ratings, maintaining its No. 1 status for four consecutive weeks since unmasking Salem's serial killer.  (Contributed by Sunni)

Big Buzz at All My Children.  Things will be changing on the canvas, and it's already starting to show.  Does this mean more actor cuts?  Meanwhile, rumor has it that someone from the dead will resurrected.  Leo?  Dixie?  Stay tuned!

While over at As the World Turns, the show is looking to create a new set for the so-called "upbeat crowd."

On the west coast at Days of our Lives, Buzz is that Sharon Osbourne will be asked to return for a longer part. Now that her talk show has been cancelled, maybe she will become a full time Salemite?

No truth to the rumor that DOOL's Alison Sweeney (Sami) and her husband are separated, and that in real life she is dating Bryan Dattillo (Lucas).

Meantime at General Hospital, look for a surprise from a visitor that will make the most seasoned viewer think twice!

Y&R alum Eva Longoria (ex-Isabella) has been cast in the ABC pilot Desperate Housewives, a dark dramedy chronicling secret lives of four women living in a cul-de-sac. Marc Cherry and GH co-head writer Charles Pratt created the show. Longeria was last seen in prime time on ABC's LA Dragnet.

All My Children is Buzzing that more veteran stars will be getting the pink slip. Sources say it's not because of a cut in the budget, but a new direction with the show.  Whose next on the chopping block?

Are you a fan of Julie and Caleb from As the World Turns? Rumor has it that the roles of Julie and Caleb may be written back into the canvas. Stay tuned.

The Days of our Lives Serial Killer story line just won't quit! The rumor mill is saying at least two more characters will become victims of the serial killer, but the last is being kept top secret.  Any guesses?

On a more somber note, Buzz is that some Young and the Restless actors held their own private memorial for Terry Lester (ex-Jack), who recently passed away in real life.  Lester's friends and family are in Soapdom's thoughts at this time.

Although the news has yet been confirmed by the show, As the World Turns setside sources whisper that Napiera Danielle, who was seen as Jessica's chain-gang daughter Bonnie last November, will reprise her role in an upcoming episode.

In other ATWT Buzz., daytime newcomer Chris Beetem joins the cast as Jordan Sinclair, the newest employee at BRO. Beetem starred in the 2002 film Black Hawk Down and appeared as Joe Templeton Jr. in Law and Order: SVU. He starts making waves in Oakdale beginning March 3, 2004.  (Contributed by Sunni)

Emmy Buzz at AMC.  Word is that Susan Lucci (Erica) is thrilled to be in the running for an Emmy this year. In fact, she is having a designer gown made. Does she know something that we don't?

Over at As the World Turns, rumor has it that Anne Parisse (Julia) might make a brief appearance. Look out Jack!

On Days of our Lives, Buzz hears that if Bonnie (Judi Evans) takes over Tuscany and turns it into a country bar, there may be some well know country artists that will be performing their hit songs. Stay tuned!

While on Passions, Buzz hears that when Days stars heard that Louise Sorel (ex-Vivian) will be joining Passions, they sent her flowers. How thoughtful. Both studios are back-to-back.

And at Young and the Restless, there is no truth to the rumor that the show will plan a memorial with a photo at the end of a show to honor Terry Lester, the original Jack Abbott, who recently passed away.

B&B won seven out of ten Golden Boomerang Awards on Jan. 23, 2004, including Best Show and four acting nominations.  Congrats B&B!

January 28, 2004

Over at Days of our Lives, Buzz is that Kristian Alfonso (Hope) was seen leaving the offices of the powers that be. Might she be exiting the show? Stay tuned!

Plus, we all know that John Clarke (Mickey) is leaving the show.  Health reasons were cited as the cause of his departure.  However, rumor has it that Clarke is leaving the show because of the recent turn of events. Buzz is that he confided in a friend that what happened to Suzanne Rodgers (Maggie) was "despicable."

While at Passions, now that NBC has renewed the show, rumor has it that additional cast members will be added, and they will be the "off the wall" type of characters.

And at Young and the Restless, rumor has it that some big backstage changes are in store.  More executive shuffles? Stay tuned!

January 19, 2004

On All My Children, the Buzz is that a hot movie star has asked for a cameo. Stay tuned!

Over at As the World Turns, look for a mysterious stranger from the past to reappear. And it will be a shock!

At Days of our Lives, will John Aniston (Victor) be the next to go at the hands of the serial killer? Sources are telling us that Aniston, who has played manipulative Victor Kiriakis on Days of Our Lives for nearly 20 years, will be next in the mass exodus of longtime vets from the soap. A successful theater actor, Aniston made the foray into daytime as Eddie Aleta on Love of Life in 1975, then appeared on Search for Tommorow as Martin Tourneur. He joined Days in 1985. Aniston's reps declined to report on the actor's contract status. A Days rep offered no comment at this time. Buzz hears that the veteran actor was seen at the "Young and Restless" set. Interesting.  (contributed by Sunni and Mark Wilows).

In more DOOL Buzz, Look for the serial killer to be revealed. Tip. You see more of the individual everyday and on January 28, 2004 we'll find out who it is!

Several days ago we reported that Jennifer Finnegan has landed a plumb role in the prime time series, Crossing Jordan. The inside the bubble scoop was that perhaps Jill Hennessey, who wanted to spend more time with her newborn child, might not be back. We can now confirm that Hennessey will indeed return, but Finnegan's character will carry a fair portion of the leading investigations so Hennessey can spend more time with her child.  This latest Buzz thanks to "Win a Date with Tad Hamilton" co-star Katheryn Hahn, who also stars as Medical Examiner assistant, Lily, on Crossing Jordan. "Oh yes, we are back in production. I am very happy about that.  It's wonderful to have Jennifer Finnegan working with us," said Hahn at the "Win a Date" premiere. (Contributed by LMS)

The 50’s vintage home has contemporary styling, with hardwood floors and a spa.  Prior to Duhamel’s purchase, the home had not been for sale for 30 years.  Duhamel is engaged to actress Christy Pierce (shown above with Duhamel at the premiere of “Win a Date with Tad Hamilton”), and the two plan a May 2004 wedding.  (Contributed by LMS)

B&B's Jennifer Finnegan Gets Prime Time Gig!

Two-time Emmy winner Jennifer Finnigan (ex-Bridget, B&B) has been cast as Dr. Devan Maguire on NBC's Crossing Jordan.  Congratulations to Finnigan. She's saved the show!

Two-time Emmy winner Jennifer Finnigan (ex-Bridget, B&B) has been cast as Dr. Devan Maguire on NBC's Crossing Jordan.  Congratulations to Finnigan. She's saved the show!

Here's the Inside the Bubble Buzz -- When Crossing Jordan star, Jill Hennessey left the show to give birth, Crossing Jordan went on hiatus, meaning it shut down production. It was supposed to start production up again sometime in mid-November 2003 to air new episodes again mid-season 2004.

However, when it came time to return to work, Jill Hennessy wanted more maternity leave.  This apparently was unacceptable to the studio and/or the network and the show was cancelled!  Crew and staff lost their jobs at Jill Hennessy's whim.  At least' that's what was heard around the lot on Universal Studios where the show's production offices and stages are located.  All crew and administrative personnel were laid off and the show shut down!

But it looks like with the casting of Finnigan as a new main character, Crossing Jordan, is back up and running!  Question is -- will Jill Henessey return as well?  We'll have to tune in and see!  (Contributed by LMS and Sunni)
