hspace=10 src=And in Harmony news... Justin Hartley (Fox) tells buzz that before getting his role on Passions, he was no stranger to the show. He auditioned for another role, was called back, called back again, but didn't get the part. Another soap star makes it big!  Guiding Light's former certifiable lunatic Annie Dutton, as played by the Emmy-winning Cynthia Watros, will add a certain mystery to ABC's uber-popular primetimer, Lost , this fall.  According to TV Guide Online, the big question mark lies in the fact that viewers will have yet to learn whether or not Watros' character was a passenger seated within the tail section of the doomed Oceanic Flight 815, or someone new they encounter on the island.  Here''s what we do know.  She plays Libby, a mysterious new character.  Watros, following her stint with Guiding Light, enjoyed runs on Titus and The Drew Carey Show.(Contributed by MEW, LDB and LMS)

hspace=5 src=Ok all you Days of our Lives fans. You have a keen eye. And yes, Days may not win an Emmy this year for directing as a result of Monday's show (August 15, 2005), unless there was a phone booth nearby. Here's the picture.... Shawn (Jason Cook) and Mimi (Farah Fath) were going to Alice's for a night out on the town. When they had stepped on the elevator at the loft, Shawn had on beige pants. When the two entered Alice's, Shawn had on black pants. Reminds me of an old I Love Lucy when Ricky went up the stairs in white socks and came down in black. C'mon, lets get the continuity going. (Contributed by MEW)

hspace=10 src= hspace=5 src=GL Danny and Michelle fans your worst fears may just have been realized. Barbara Bloom, senior vice president, Daytime, Children's Programs and Special Projects at CBS is quoted as saying:  "The intent moving forward with Shemar is to have him do both (shows)."  Digest cites a previous interview with Y&R's Executive Producer/Head Writer as further proof:  "No matter what happens to Shemar with his other endeavors, I don't see him leaving because he's a member of the (Y&R) family.  We don't have any intention at this point of dropping him off the canvas.  He has gone overboard to say that he wants to be played.  We're working out arrangements where he could work here in the morning or something like that." I wonder if anyone in the faux studio audience will be tempted to throw a bra or two on stage as is a common practice at many Aiken concerts?  Perhaps, Ms. Kane herself will be so overcome by the power of Aiken that she'll morph into a Claymate herself!  (Contributed by LDB)

hspace=5 src=In Weekend Life newspaper supplement for July 29th, Kelly Monaco (Sam, GH), the controversial winner of Dancing with the Stars, takes us inside the bubble of the competition. First of all, wearing those spiked heels was the most brutal part.  She commented on the inequities of the fact that the men got to dance in comfortable flat shoes, while the women had to wear heels that cut off the circulation.  "My feet are still not presentable," she said.  She also revealed that after the infamous wardrobe malfunction, all the women dancers wore "pasties" under their costumes. Her advice?  Keep yourself covered and you won't have to worry.  Also, it turns out that Monaco hails from a long line of family who could ballroom dance.  "My father could do it. My 5-year old nephew could do it.  If I'd had something like this when I was little, I probably wouldn't have gotten into so much trouble." Hum. Wonder what trouble she's talking about?  That's definitely an interview question for the future!  Her best dancers' tip is leave pedicures behind.  "You need that dry skin to build calluses," she said. The more your feet are calloused, the better! (Contributed by LMS)

Passions fans shouldn't be alarmed when they don't recognize the Sheridan they have grown to love come this September 6th.  One, two, three, breathe with me now.... Shannon Sturges (ex-Kate, Port Charles; ex-Molly, Days Of Our Lives) is only pinch hitting for Sheridan regular McKenzie Westmore. "I have an acute inner-ear infection that is causing terrible vertigo.  Every time I stand up, I get sick and the room spins. So, I am off for a bit until my ear drains," explained Westmore on her Web site.  (Contributed by LDB)
According to this week's Soap Opera Digest, don't look for Michael Damian (ex-Danny, The Young and the Restless) to pop up in Genoa City any time in the near future.  The actor, while holding onto "fond" memories of his former soap home, is busy collaborating on new projects. Most recently, according to Digest, Damian and wife Janeen, wrote produced, directed and appeared in an independent film called Hot Tamale; the movie also stars Randy Spelling (ex-Sean, Sunset Beach) and Jason Priestley (ex-Brandon, Beverly Hills, 90210).  Next up?  "We're doing a romantic comedy called The Nude," reports Damian to the magazine.  "We've just finished the screenplay and we're shooting next spring."
