Days of our Lives fans, there is a rumor floating around the net that NBC has picked up Days of our Lives.  Great news, yes?  However, let's not count our blessings just yet. According to our sources at the network, no decision on the fate of Days has been reached as of press time.  But hang tight. Sometimes, the fact that these "rumors" are beginning to surface, may indeed mean that the net is deciding in Days favor. Stay tuned to Soapdom for more on this breaking story. Contributed by LMS

Antonio Sabato, Jr. (ex Dante, Bold and the Beautiful)Soapdom has learned that there may be a second season of SOAPnet’s “GH: Night Shift.”  We also hear that General Hospital is interested in resurrecting the character of Jagger Cates and may be reaching out to Antonio Sabato, Jr. (ex Dante, B&B) who starred as Jagger on GH from 1992-1994 and again in 1995. Apparently, they want Sabato, Jr. to reprise Jagger Cates on the nighttime spinoff.  Stay tuned. Contributed by LMS

Soapdom is saddened to report that actor, John Phillip Law, has passed away. Along with memorable roles in feature films like Barbarabella (with Jane Fonda) and The Russians are Coming (with Alan Arkin), Law did a stint on The Young and the Restless as Jim Gringer in 1998. Contributed by LMS

Soapdom has heard that the character of Michael (played by Dylan Cash), who is currently in a coma on General Hospital, will be recast. In fact, as we understand it, the call has gone out for a replacement -- but not for an older actor. For a younger one.  General Hospital wants to keep Michael at around age 7!  This is a case of SORAS (soap opera rapid aging syndrome) in reverse.  Contributed by LMS

Young and the Restless' Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chole; ex Maggie, All My Children) has her very own YouTube channel and she just started doing a video blog. Her plan is to take us behind the scenes on Y&R.  Her first video blog reveals that she is in Tracey E. Bregman's dressing room. Since Hendrickson is not a contract player, she gets to share dressing rooms with actors who may not be working on the day(s) she's working. In this particular video blog, we learn that she is on set to tape not one, not two, but three episodes... check it out ! Contributed by LMS

Eden Riegel (ex Bianca, All My Children)Speaking of former All My Children stars and YouTube, Daytime Emmy Winner, Eden Riegel (ex Bianca, AMC) also has a YouTube channel.  Check in with Riegel here . Contributed by LMS

Which brings me to this. Cady McClain, who has recently returned to All My Children in the role of Dixie's Ghost, is only back for an 8-week stint.  If it goes well, however, she is not against making a more permanant arrangement with the show.  She noted to the NY Daily News that AMC producers recognized the error of their ways in killing her off thanks to poisioned pancakes in early January 2007. So, who knows, maybe Dixie will come back from the dead for good a second time.  Stay tuned. Contributed by LMS

Tina Sloan (Lillian, Guiding Light)Tina Sloan (Lillian) is celebrating her 25th anniversary with Guiding Light this month.  Tina joined the show in 1983.  Beth Chamberlin has played her daughter since 1989 and had this to say about Tina:  “To say that Tina is the best TV mom anyone could ask for, doesn't begin to touch just how much she has meant to me over the years.  She has protected me, mentored me, inspired me and prodded me (I occasionally need this).   By her example, she has taught me to be a better actress, friend, and co-worker.  She is gracious, elegant and vivacious.  I consider it one of the great good fortunes of my life to have been put into her beautiful orbit.” You can visit www.guidinglight.net to see a vintage “Lillian” clip in the Whats News section. The Los Angeles Times has reported the passing of Beverlee McKinsey who played Alexandra Spaulding from 1984 until 1992. Guidinglight.net will feature a vintage “Alexandra” clip in the coming weeks as a tribute to Beverlee. Contributed by LMS

In some Where Are They Now Buzz, "As the World Turns" Jennifer Ferrin (ex Jennifer) is now appearing in  Alfred Hitchcock's "The 39 Steps," at Broadway's Cort Theatre. "A dizzy delight and an ingenious spoof," The Daily News' Joe Dziemianowicz reviewed. Contributed by LMS

As Ricky Paull Goldin (Jake, All My Children; ex Gus, Guiding Light) assumes the role of Jake Martin on AMC, Jake's most recent fomer portrayer, Michael Lowry, is appearing in a number of prime time guest starring roles.  This week alone he played a no-nonsense homicide detective in CBS' "Two and a Half Men," on Monday, May 5, and on Thursday, May 8, he had a memorable, albiet it brief, stint on CBS' "Without a Trace" as an angered man whose car was about to be repossesed.  Soapdom congratulates Lowry on landing these prime time gigs.   Which brings us to this.  Ricky Paull Goldin is taking over as AMC's Jake after number of other actors -- in addition to Michael Lowry --  dallied in the role, including Michael Brainard, Michael Scalera, and J. Eddie Peck. Wil Jake be long lived in Pine Valley this time around?  Stay tuned... Contributed by LMS
