Danny Bonaduce, former child star, talk show host, radio personality, and known for other slightly more taudry things such as several stints in rehab, admitted to buzz that he loves the soaps. In some huge General Hospital Buzz, I am hearing a big character will be killed off during sweeps at Nik's bacchanalia ball---- female.  And there will be an interesting twist in just who is running the Zacchara crime family.  I also heard that Brandon Barash has been upped to contract status as Johnny Zacchara on GH. Cameron Mathison (Ryan, All My Children)Cameron Mathison (Ryan, AMC; Superman, Dancing with the Stars) was the second celebrity saved on last night's results show.   High off his record high score and knowing that he's around to dance for at least another week, he was whisked off to Hollywood & Highland in Hollywood to host the live season finale of "I Wanna Be a Soap Star." And what a powerhouse of energy he was!  He kicked the warm up guy off the stage, and took over the warm up himself.  He was on fire, and we were treated to an announcement of his good fortune on "Dancing with the Stars." Stay tuned to Soapdom for our complete coverage of the "I Wanna Be a Soap Star" live season finale, coming soon. Contributed by LMS

Kelley Menighan Hensley & Jon Hensley (Emily & Holden, ATWT)When Kelley Menighan Hensley (Emily) returns to Oakdale on October 24th, it looks like she could be poised to start a storyline where she is linked (romantically?) with real life hubby, Jon Hensley (Holden).  However, in a recent interview with Soap Opera Digest, she confessed that they'd both prefer not to work together and expressed those sentiments to the powers that be at the show.  "Jon and I, honestly, were both very much against it AT FIRST [emphasis mine], just because theres a new baby in the house and we really don't need to have the same schedule at this point," she revealed to SOD. "I think it would be fun for the fans, but I said to [Chris] Goutman [executive producer], I had a happy marriage for 11 years. Can we keep it that way, please? He laughed."  All we can say is stay tuned. Contributed by CL

In more ATWT Buzz, rumor has it that an actress with a recently developed frontburner storyline will soon be leaving the show. Contributed by CL

Congratulations go out to Days of our Lives newest hunk, Matthew Florida, who debuts tomorrow (Tuesday, October 9, 2007) in the contract role of Ford Dekker. He and his lovely wife, Anna Zielinski, welcomed a beautiful, bouncing baby boy, Ryan Henry Florida, into the world on Monday, October 8th, weighing in at 6 lbs, 7 ounces and 19 inches long.  But get this.  Talk about "oh baby!"  On Wednesday, October 10th, watch for Florida to strip tease us as he engages in a scene where it almost all comes off. I am talking close to naked, y'all!  Set your TiVos and VCRs for this one. The character of Ford Dekker is gonna hit Salem by storm, or by skin, or whatever. Just be sure to tune in! ;o)  Contributed by LMS

Drake Hogestyn (John, Days of our Lives)Woe's me!  It's true. Soapdom can now confirm that one of Salem's most beloved characters will soon be gone from the canvas.  John Black, played by Drake Hogestyn, is being written off the show. Stay tuned to Soapdom's Sneak Peeks and First Looks for the week of October 15 which is when the unthinkable will take place.  Contributed by LMS

While over in As the World Turns land, fans are bored and enraged at the same time. They hate what's happened to the Carly and Jack romance, and hate even more that Carly will resort to unethical means to keep her man. The kicker is that apparently, Michael Park, who plays Jack, shares the fans' sentiments, except he believes that Maura West (Carly) is doing a wonderful acting job with the material.  Interesting that with just about a year left on the As the World Turns contract with CBS, the show is getting less favor from fans.  Also, while we're at it, only a year left on Guiding Light's contract as well.  Want to keep your soaps on the air. Alexa Havins (Babe, All My Children)Amanda Baker (Babe, All My Children)On October 8th, the character of Babe on All My Children will make a drastic change. She will go from being played by Alexa Havins (who originated the role in 2003) to being played by Amanda Baker who is coming off a stint as Jolene on General Hospital and GH: Night Shift.  As Havin's Babe offers a hug, it's Baker's Babe who ends up being the one doing the hugging.  To get to know Baker, check out Amanda Baker's official message boards .  As for what's in store for Alexa Havins, you'll soon be seeing her on the big screen. She just completed filming the feature film, "27 Dresses," which stars "Grey's Anatomy's Katherine Heigl and a bunch of former soapers including James Marsden (ex Scott, AMC), and Josh Casaubon (ex Hugh, OLTL), with nine-year old Peyton Roi List.  Plus, Havins is currently in production on another feature starring John Travolta called "Old Dogs."  Both films are due out in 2008. Maura West and Michael Park (Carly and Jack, ATWT)Fans of As the World Turns are up at arms regarding a recent article in Soap Opera Digest on Carly and Jack. The article spilled the beans on the fact that Carly is not really dying!  The problem is, once she finds out, she hesitates coming clean, and continues to lead Jack on.  Is this a typical Carly ploy?  Will she at least tell Parker the truth?  How do you feel about this latest development?  Let us know on the Soapdom ATWT Message boardsContributed by CL & LMS

I just cannot believe that Days of our Lives killed John Black off the show! He and Marlena were one of the great supercouples. Maybe he isn't really dead? Now, that would be interesting.

Past Blast

Days of our Lives' Blake Berris on Meth Head

Blake Berris of Days of our Lives in a movie? You bet. The talented actor not only lights up the screen on Days as the twisted character of Nick Fallon that he so eloquently plays, but now he co-stars in "Meth Head" an independent feature film that was just screened in Washington, DC.  -- to rave reviews.

"Yes! I just came back from the screening. I'm still in Washington and I was thrilled to read the reviews in the papers," Berris said. "This film is something I really wanted to do."

Berris plays Dustin, a character who befriends Kyle, the lead character, played by Lukas Hass ("Lincoln", "Inception", " Brick"), and let's just say he leads him down the pathway of life to hell.
