Love in the Afternoon to Soapdom.com, a wild ride in soaps and then some.

Merle Goldberg has worked in and out of daytime television since the launch of ABC’s on-air promotional campaign, LOVE IN THE AFTERNOON. Writing and producing promos for all three networks has given Goldberg the opportunity to work with some of daytime’s legendary actors; Ruth Warrick, Eric Braden, John McCook and more.  Goldberg co-wrote CBS SOAPBREAK, a limited series that still pops up in re-runs somewhere in Canada, and has segment produced several Daytime Emmy broadcasts.  She began contributing to Soapdom in 2004.  In addition to her work with Soapdom, Goldberg was a field producer and got to interview some of daytime’s hottest hunks; Jack Wagner, Lorenzo Lamas, Antonio Sabato, Jr., and Kristoff St. John for SoapNet’s Daytime Hottest Hunks Special in September 2005 and shared behind the scenes dish about the program with us at Soapdom.

As a television and feature film promo writer/producer Goldberg created campaigns for some of the biggest mini-series and movies of the 1980’s; THE WINDS OF WAR, THE DAY AFTER, SILKWOOD, and PRIZZI’S HONOR.

Goldberg’s written and Executive Produced, LANGUAGE SAYS IT ALL, an Academy-Award nominated documentary.  She continues to write documentaries, the multi-award winning STANDING ON MY SISTER’S SHOULDERS, and now in production, FATHER GREGG AND THE HOMEBOYS.

On the lighter side, Goldberg writes episodes for some of HGTV’s most popular shows; DESIGNER’S CHALLENGE and HOUSE HUNTERS. 

A real movie buff, Goldberg has worked on many of the American Film Institute’s 100 Greatest Shows and produced tribute packages for some Hollywood’s most important writers and



directors, Robert Towne, John Schelesinger, Bo Goldman, Carl Reiner,  David Milch, Daniel Taradash, and many more. 

Goldberg is most proud of the four years she spent interviewing Holocaust survivors, righteous Gentiles, and liberators for Steven Spielberg’s SURVIVORS OF THE SHOAH VISUAL HISTORY FOUNDATION. 

A graduate of the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music, Goldberg has studied French since she was 8 years old, which makes her a real Francophile.

With his 23rd birthday approaching soon, Chandler Massey (Will) of Days of our Lives is a three time Emmy Award nominee and a two time winner. He also has tackled a very controversial role that he portrays so eloquently. As a gay character, he has dealt with tough issues including coming out and sorting through his inner feelings. The scenes are so well written and his performance has been nothing but exuberant. He is the first actor to ever win an Emmy for playing a gay character, taking the role to new heights.
