Esme and Fox make love and plan their future together after reading Viki to sleep. Fox is unaware of the looming threat that could end his happy future before it even begins. When gunfire rings out, Esme is shocked to see that Fox has been shot square in the chest. As she calls out for help, we watch as Fox's life seems to slip away as blood rushes from his wounds.
At the same time, Sheridan threatens to take care of Spike once and for all if he doesn’t tell her everything he knows about Marty. Spike reluctantly shows Sheridan a live video feed of Marty, alive and well, but refuses to tell her where he is.
Alistair watches Fancy and Luis through a monitor as he puts his plan to separate them in motion. But when his scheme backfires, Alistair risks losing the granddaughter he was so determined to reclaim.
Eve goes to see Valerie to talk about Vincent and is shocked to find the place in disarray. A strangely sedate Valerie has little reaction to Eve’s news that Vincent has been killed, but we see she harbors an incredible secret that will change everything! When Eve leaves, Valerie removes a mask revealing that she is not a she at all!
Meanwhile, as they wait for Ethan to come out of his coma, Sam and Ivy share a passionate kiss. Shortly thereafter, Theresa is elated when Ethan awakes and joyfully remembers he has a son and asks to see him right away. As Pilar heads off to bring the young boy to his dad and just when everything seems complete for the happy couple, Gwen arrives with a surprise of her own that crushes Theresa’s perfect ending! It's a baby boy and as she hands him to Ethan and says, "Ethan here is your son. Your son and mine!"
