SOAPDOM:  October 23, 2007 -- THIS JUST IN:  There is no direct quote from Nathaniel Marston (Michael, One Life To Live) on his official website--- http://nathanielmarston.net --- regarding the incidents this past weekend that had him arrested by New York City Police Officers and ultimately sent as a patient to Bellevue Hospital, however, the site's chief operator, Karen Neuman, had the following posted on Marston's behalf:  "I would like to thank all the amazing people who have sent their support and well wishes to Nathaniel. I have spoken to him and passed on your kind thoughts, and please know that he was very, very appreciative of all the good will and support sent his way. I hope you all understand that I have to respect his privacy and can't comment on the situation at this time. I'll keep you updated as much as I can as soon as I can, but until then I will continue to pass along your good wishes."

SOAPDOM, October 22, 2007:  In yet another instance of daytime talent having run ins with the law [last month LA-based Kirsten Storms (Maxie, General Hospital) and Sean Kanan (ex Deacon, Bold and the Beautiful) were arrested for DUI (driving under the influence) in separate incidents)], Nathaniel Marston, One Life to Live’s Dr. Michael McBain, was arrested early Sunday morning in New York City for allegedly attacking three people in midtown. The altercation ended in an all out brawl with the NYPD landing Marston in Bellevue Hospital.

An eye witness reports to Soapdom that Marston was “out of his mind.”  According to the NY Daily News, who broke the story early this morning, the “police said the 6-foot-3 actor appeared to be under the influence of narcotics, possibly cocaine, when they were called to the scene. Marston, a former amateur boxer, began flailing his arms and kicking at officers as they went to arrest him, officials said.”  Marston was charged with two counts each of felony assault, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon as well as one count of resisting arrest.”

It is indeed interesting that he was taken to Bellevue Hospital, an institution that caters to people with emotional and psychological problems.  According to the police, upon arrival at Bellevue, he was labeled as an emotionally disturbed patient.

This is not the first situation where Marston has been arrested. Having admitted anger issues, the actor was arrested in 1999 for punching out an ATM machine.  It is also reported that he recently had a blow out on the set of One Life to Live.  Carolyn Hinsley, editor-in-chief of Soap Opera Weekly, who also writes a column for The Daily News, said she believes that as a result of this incident, he will lose his job.  Remember, ABC Daytime has a morals clause in their contracts with talent.  Several years ago, they fired a very popular Michael Nader (Dimitri Merick, All My Children), who suffered with alcohol and drug addiction, for allegedly dealing drugs.

Nathaniel Marston and Kathy Brier (Michael and Marcie, OLTL)Marston first joined One Life to Live in 2001 in the role of Al Holden where he began an unlikely romance with Marcie (Kathy Brier).  Soapdom met him and saw him interacting at Super Soap West in 2002 where he seemed awfully quiet and restrained. He was abruptly fired in 2003, but fans, who loved the pairing of Marcie and Al, petitioned for his return and won.  The actor returned to Llanview in 2004 as Michael McBain.

A spokesperson for One Life to Live confirmed the story and said: “We are aware of the incident and are reviewing the details.”
