Rumors regarding Eva Longoria return put to rest.
She's back! Ratings month for television is here, and who better to spice things up on The Young and the Restless than Lauralee Bell, (Christine Blair).
"I definitely think my coming back has to do with sweeps and Veteran's Day, as there will be a Veteran's Day scene. Plus...
"I have a few flash backs involving Eva Longoria's character, so again, I was happy to help during an important time, and I'm a fan of flash backs," Bell said. "Unfortunately for me in these, I look a bit of a drowned rat in the bathtub, but I can get over that for the sake of good drama."
Longtime viewers remember when Longoria, before "Desperate Housewives" and a season and a half on "LA Law & Order," played the ever whacked out Isabella Brana. To refresh your memory, Brana got pregnant by Christine's husband, Paul, and then faked her death so Christine would get the rap.
Bell added that viewers will also see her give Ronan (Jeff Branson) some more flack about not reaching out to his mother who is finally in the same city as he is. "And the fans will see a group scene, and because of Jeanne Cooper's temporary real-life illness, they will see me with a different Katherine, played by TV veteran Michael Learned (Waltons)," Bell previewed.
Bell, who has not appeared in over a year, was overjoyed to return. "I had gotten a call from Maria (Arena Bell, Y&R's current head-writer), who said there were a few days coming up on the show and it would be helpful if my character would be a part of it. It was an easy Yes! Since it would take no more than two weeks, and I'm always thrilled to hang with Doug Davidson (Paul), Tricia Cast (Nina) and Christian LeBlanc (Michael)," she said.
Bell believes that when the trio works together it's that sense of history between them personally and the characters that it is "always a fun feeling to experience."
Soapdom and the fans need to know if Christine will return on a more permanent basis?
"I can't say if I'd ever return permanently at this time only because I've got a few things juggling work-wise, and of course, those little people in my life, but I'm totally open to coming back whenever I'm needed," Bell explains. "And my days go by so fast at Young and Restless or at home that I feel like I'm always on some kind of routine. But I do miss the continuous schedule of the show. However, popping in and out, is a pretty wonderful situation for now. No matter how long I'm gone from the show and come back, it's like I never left. It's just so comfortable. As my wonderful father (the late great William J. Bell, Y&R co-creator) would say STAY TUNED!"
Lauralee Bell begins airing on The Young and the Restless, Wednesday, November 9, 2011.
