The Young and the Restless will be seen on the east coast, but not on the westcoast on Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 27, 2003.  CBS will rebroadcast The Young and the Restless' dramatic climax of the Isabella murder mystery in which Chris is rescued by Paul and Michael (except on the West Coast). Many East Coast viewers, who were left without electricity in the wake of the East Coast power outage on its original airdate, August 15, 2003, missed this episode. The Young and the Restless will not be seen on the West Coast due to coverage of the "CBS Thanksgiving Day Parade."

On Friday, November 28, a recent Y&R fan favorite, originally broadcast on October 17, 2003, will be rebroadcast. The episode revolves around the aftermath of the devastating fire at Gina's and J.T.'s emotionally charged rescue of Colleen from the rubble. Due to NCAA Football, The Young and the Restless will air 3:00 PM-4:00 PM on the West Coast.

The Thanksgiving Day Parade

Real-life Days of Our Lives couple Arianne Zuker (Nicole) and Kyle Lowder (Brady) will ride the 'Wedding Bell-y Laffs Limo Service' float in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on Nov. 27 (9 am/ET, NBC).

Soapers ~ a movement, a philosophy, a new book

When ABC announced the cancellation of long time fan favorite soap operas All My Children and One Life to Live in the spring of 2011, all havoc broke loose. Passionate fans took to the internet, boycotted ABC's advertisers, called for the firing of then ABC Daytime head, Brian Frons (who spearheaded the cancellations), picketed the studio, did anything and everything they possibly could to let the network know just how unhappy they were with the network's decision to dump their continuing stories for the more cost efficient lifestyle and talk shows that were to replace the soaps.

One such loyal fan, Flo DiBona, has chronicled the events of this tumultuous time in her new book, Soapers.
