Winners of the Soap Opera Digest Awards are chosen exclusively by ballots submitted from the readers of Soap Opera Digest Magazine.  The ballot, available exclusively in the December 24th issue included Outstanding Lead Actor and Actress, Outstanding Supporting Actor and Actress, Outstanding Young Lead Actor and Younger Lead Actress, Outstanding Newcomer, Favorite Return, Favorite Couple, Favorite Show, and the SOAPnet Outstanding Plot Twist Award.
