The NAACP Image Awards is the nation's premier event celebrating the outstanding achievements and performances of people of color in the arts (television, recording, literature, motion picture and writing & directing), as well as those individuals or groups who promote social justice through their creative endeavors.

The 42nd NAACP Image Awards, recognized as the preeminent multi-cultural awards show – from an African-American point of view -- announced the following talented African American stars as nominees in the daytime drama category:

The 42nd Annual NAACP Image Awards will air Friday, March 4, 2011 at 8/7c on FOX.

The 41st NAACP Image Awards were hosted by Anika Noni Rose and Hill Harper, and the 40th NAACP Image Awards were hosted by Halle Berry and Tyler Perry.

Show hosts for this year's 42nd Annual Awards broadcast have not yet been announced.
