Tuc Watkins and Erika Slezak, One Life to LiveProspect Park's The Online Network (TOLN) today announced that the much awaited reboot of fan favorite continuing dramas, One Life to Live and All My Children, has now received a set air date. Both shows will debut on Monday, April 29, 2013.

After much ado about something, first ABC Daytime announcing the cancelation of both soap operas in April 2011, to Prospect Park garnering the rights in July 2011, to Prospect Park announcing suspending their plans to air the shows online in November 2011, to their announcement in late 2012 that the initiative was back up and running, to today's historic announcement, it's been a wild ride of extreme highs and extreme lows for fans

Now you can breathe easy, knowing that your beloved shows will again see the light of daytime, nighttime and basically any time you want to watch them beginning this April 29th.

"We thank the fans whose tenaciousness to see these shows return made this historical moment possible, " said Jeff Kwatinetz and Rick Frank, Prospect Park's partners. "We are determined to repay their support by delivering new and creatively groundbreaking episodes that both the fans, as well as legions of new viewers, will love.

Prospect Park's co-Founders went on to explain their sentiments regarding the online platforms delivering the rebooted soap operas. "These viewers will absolutely embrace the flexibility HULU and iTunes provide to watch their shows anywhere, anytime," they said and we here at Soapdom.com echo that assumption.

Kwatinetz and Frank also shared some Inside the Bubble (™) news on how the production is shaping up on the 2.0 version.

"The response and camaraderie of our cast and crew has been inspiring as we have all banded together to succeed in our mission; unencumbered by the creative constraints of traditional broadcast television, to deliver storylines, style and characters that are stronger, with more dimension than ever.  Now with our launch date set in stone, we are ready to lead this historic return.  To the fans we proclaim, your support counts now more than ever."

What Soapdom.com gleans from these comments is that yes, you will see familiar, and comforting old faces along with some new, very hot ones. The comment: "...unencumbered by the creative constraints of traditional broadcast television," and seeing the sexy poses, and the amount of 'skin' being show in the cast pictures (get a better view here for All My Children and for One Life to Live), we are in for one wild, romantic, sexy, intriguing ride once these shows return.

Emmy Award winner Agnes Nixon, creative consultant for both programs, a soap opera pioneer, and the creator of both of these shows added: "I am so pleased that our dream of bringing these two series back to life is coming to fruition. I am grateful to Prospect Park for their unwavering commitment to this project and to the amazingly talented casts of 'All My Children' and 'One Life to Live' – their devotion to these franchises has made this moment possible.  And to the fans – well, we wouldn't be here without you."

Here's the whole skinny...

In addition, the iTunes Store will offer both series via iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Apple TV and Mac and PC, making these venerable dramas available in a new format that suits the viewing habits of the digital generation.  Production began on "All My Children" February 25, and shooting will begin on "One Life to Live" March 18th. The production schedule works like this: All My Children shoots for five weeks. Then the cast is off for five weeks, while One Life to Live tapes it's five weeks worth.
