David Giuntoil (Nick, Grimm, NBC)May's the month that sets primetime's fate. For those of us who work in the entertainment industry, we approach the month of May with both joy and trepidation. It could mean that our show (or the one we work on) is getting picked up. Or, it could mean that we find out our show has been cancelled. I know a number of people who are now out of work thanks to network cancellations. The good news is that there are a fair amount of new shows that have been picked up to replace those cancelled. Hopefully, a fair amount of these will be shot in Los Angeles, to keep our entertainment professionals employed.

Read on to find out what's been officially cancelled, what's still on the bubble and what new shows are picked up.

BUH BYE (See ya, don't wanna be ya)

The plug's been pulled on these shows. Will you miss any favorites? We are sad to see Smash, Burn ("when you're a spy') Notice and Vegas bite the dust on the drama scape, while we will miss Malibu Country and Whitney on the comedy side. How about you? Tell us in comments below.

There are quite a selection of shows coming down the pike for this fall season and mid-season. As of today, we don't know how all the network schedules will shape up, i.e., what shows will end up on the fall line up or what shows will be saved for mid season and/or summer debuts.  So stay tuned for that.

Meanwhile, in the daytime and online soap opera world it was announced today that one-time major fan favorite, Michael Nader, is returning to All My Children in the role of Dimitri Marick. And The Young and the Restless plans a special tribute to honor the dearly departed, Jeanne Cooper, which will air May 28.
