Brian Gaskill (Rafe), Erin Hershey Presley (Alison) and Kiko Elsworth (Jamal)Port Charles Kicks Off It's Last Book, The Gift

Read with Caution, Contains Scoopage!

On the heels of the announcement of the cancellation of Port Charles, the half-hour soap begins airing it's last and final chapter, titled "The Gift,"  on Monday, July 7, 2003.

In this farewell chapter, the citizens of Port Charles are forced to confront their deepest desires, as "The Gift" -- which refers to a magic ring -- moves through the community. The ring, which grants wishes, has huge repercussions when it causes people to act out of character and form unlikely alliances.

The shifting relationships between Livvie (Kelly Monaco), Caleb (Michael Easton), Rafe (Brian Gaskill) and Alison (Erin Hershey Presley) are pushed to the limit as never before when this magical ring takes over their lives. The relationship that builds between Chris (Nolan North) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Staab) leads to some great light-hearted fun, as the pair works together to try and gain the respect from friends and family that they both yearn for. The triangle between Kevin (Jon Lindstrom), Lucy (Lynn Herring) and Ian (Thorsten Kaye) takes on an unusual twist when they are put into close quarters and conflicting emotions run high. Jamal's (Kiko Ellsworth) wish comes true when he briefly becomes a beneficiary of "The Gift" and a mysterious new love interest, Imani (Kent Masters King), falls into his arms. For the residents of "Port Charles," their challenges are of the supernatural kind, raising the stakes on this last journey. The influence of the ring will reverberate throughout the town, setting the tone for this exciting, not-to-be-missed, powerful story.

"Port Charles" is a spin-off of the top-rated, award-winning drama, "General Hospital." In December 2000, "Port Charles" launched a new kind of storytelling with a thirteen-week story arc format. It debuted on the ABC Television Network on June 1, 1997, as a two-hour, primetime special and will air its last show Friday October 3, 2003.

"Port Charles" airs MONDAY-FRIDAY (12:30-1:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. Julie Hanan Carruthers is the executive producer. Barbara Esensten and James Harmon Brown serve as head writers.
