Grammy Award-winning recording artist Nelly Furtado will appear on ABC's "One Life to Live" on Friday, February 23 (taping on Tuesday, December 12 at the "OLTL" studio in New York City). She will appear as herself and perform "Say It Right" and Grammy-nominated "Promiscuous" from her latest album, "Loose," at Antonio Vega's (Kamar de los Reyes) club, Capricorn.
"The cast and I congratulate Nelly on her Grammy nomination and are thrilled that she will perform her nominated song on 'One Life to Live,'" says executive producer Frank Valentini. "We are proud to have hosted a tremendously talented group of musicians on our show and always look for opportunities to collaborate with artists from the music industry."
Furtado tops an impressive list of artists to perform on the show in 2006 that includes Mary J. Blige, Jeannie Ortega, Lifehouse and Tito Puente Jr. In previous years, such artists as Simply Red, Chris Botti and Erykah Badu have performed on the show.
Released on June 20, 2006, "Loose," Furtado's third album, soared to the top of the Billboard Top 200 chart to debut at #1. The first hit single from the album, "Promiscuous," held the #1 slot on the Billboard singles chart for nine weeks and earned a Grammy nomination, announced on December 7. Furtado will kick off her "Get Loose Tour" in the spring of 2007 touring Europe, her native Canada, the U.S., Japan, Australia and Latin America. Her multi-platinum first album, "Whoa Nelly!," released in October 2000, earned her a Grammy for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for "I'm Like a Bird." Her second album, "Folklore," released in November 2003, was gold-certified in the U.S. and multi-platinum internationally.
