Kim Zimmer (Reva, Guiding Light) rides again in GL DVD collection

Happy 75th Birthday, Guiding Light

The iconic soap opera, and broadcast's longest running program (being on air first on radio and then television for over 73 years), celebrates it's 75th birthday, January 25, 2012.

As you know, the first-ever authorized DVD collection of episodes from the daytime drama, Guiding Light has been released. The four-disc set contains twenty of the most memorable episodes from the legendary series.

The collection is similar to the recent hit DVD release of classic episodes from As the World Turns. Like the As the World Turns collection, the 20 handpicked episodes are divided into four categories: “Great Weddings,” “Secrets and Scandals,” “Springfield Through the Years,” and “Villains and Vixens."  Plus, and this is the best part...

We hear that the episodes represent some of the most popular storylines from the long-running series, but I want to know what you think.  Are these the some of the most popular episodes?    Click on one of the banners here to get your collection and let us know.

(If they are not among your favorites, which storylines would you like to see featured?  Let us know in the comments section below and we will pass it on.)

Additionally, the collection includes episodes that feature performances by fan favorites such as Kim Zimmer (Reva), Robert Newman (Josh), Grant Aleksander (Phillip),  Lisa Brown (Nola),  and the legendary Joan Collins (Alexandra).   Oh yeah, FYI. Did you know that Lisa Brown also served as an acting coach on Guiding Light and on One Life to Live?  Yup. She sure did!
But we digress.  Back to this amazing Guiding Light DVD collection.

All of the episodes in the Guiding Light collection have been digitally remastered from the original network tapes, meaning the quality is probably far better than when you originally watched the show on network.

Plus, each eppy is presented in its entirety, without commercials.  Complete details about the episodes, as well as video excerpts, are available at Soap Classics.

Mark Yates, president of Soap Classics, the company responsible for distributing the collection commented: “We were delighted with the fan response to our release of classic episodes from As the World Turns.  People really seemed to appreciate the care with which we picked the episodes, and even the hardcore fans were very enthusiastic. We’re hoping the fans of Guiding Light will feel the same way.”

Wouldn't the collection make the perfect Valentine's Day gift for a special friend or relative?  Don't wait. Get your copies now.

The 4-disc collection retails for $24.95.  Or you can combine the GL collection with the ATWT collection at a discounted price.  Please click on one of the banner ads above to make your purchase and tell them Soapdom sent you.
