Constance Towers' Recurring Status Gets Dates in 2004!

Yes!  We are talking in the New Year!  All of you know that Helena will return to Port Charles on General Hospital for two episodes around Christmas, airing December 23 and 24, 2003.  But if you have heard the rumors of her recurring again in 2004, Soapdom can now confirm that they are ALL true!  Constance Towers has been asked to return as Helena for 2004.  Although no airdates have yet been set, she will be shooting these episodes on December 18 and 19, 2003!

"I thank the fans and the Belles for their many letters of support over the last several months," says Constance. "I am most grateful to them for keeping Helena alive!"

Stay tuned to Soapdom.com as we keep you posted on her return. According to Tower's spokesperson, "We remain open to her continued recurring status as long as she is available.  She is also working on producing a Broadway play and you will be notified about that status as soon as we have further details."

Soapdom can't wait to see what havoc Helena will cause in Port Charles this time!

Stavros Returns!

Speaking of Helena heading back to Port Charles, she isn't the only Cassadine rolling back to town this holiday season. Robert Kelker-Kelly will reprise his role as the devious Stavros Cassadine in December.

Kelker-Kelly will appear in a special episode where Luke has a Scrooge-inspired vision and is visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future. Look for Kelker-Kelly to make his dreamy appearance beginning Dec. 23, 2003.

Days of our Lives makes history with first gay male wedding

The big day finally has come! Days of our Lives made history, and it was no April fools joke. The show is known for its long standing reputation for having storylines that are firsts, or tackling controversial subjects, or going out on a limb. I mean who can forget being possessed by the devil? Well! The show just aired the first gay male wedding making the first such event in daytime television.

The story was handled impeccably, and done tastefully. The same sex relationship has been moving slowing through trials and tribulations for the last several years.

First there was the acknowledging who you are. Then the accepting, and finally the coming out. And now the jubilant wedding of the duo known as WilSon. Will Horton (Guy Wilson) and Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith) is taking the relationship into orbit, or like the old original Star Trek show said, 'to go where no man has gone before,' at least not on a daytime drama.
