A game of musical chairs.

Another Head Rolls, Ingle Gets Reprieve

On December 12, 2003, Soapdom reported that days were numbered for four GH cast members.  Chad Brannon (Zander) was leaving of his own accord. But John Ingle (Edward), Kin Shriner (Scott), and possibly Lane Davies (Cameron) were on their way out.

News of Kin Shriner’s dismissal was a shocker. He had been with the show almost since the beginning. His character, Scott, was used to transition the spin off show, Port Charles.  After a few years doing crossovers on both soaps, he returned to GH full time.

Chad Brannon (Zander) started in a recurring role, but soon had audiences eating out of the palm of his hand and was given contact status. He chose to leave the show to pursue other interests.

General Hospital has just confirmed that the character of Cameron played by Lane Davies is the next to meet the chopping block.

“The storyline of Cameron Lewis will end in the coming weeks and as a result, Lane Davies will be leaving the cast of ‘General Hospital,’  the show spokesperson told Soapdom.  “We, the cast and crew, are most grateful for Lane’s contributions to the daytime drama and wish him much success with his future.”

But here’s the big turnaround.  John Ingle (Edward) will NOT be leaving.  Shortly after ABC announced that Edward would be written off the show, and Ingle published a formal statement thanking fans for their support over the years, General Hospital did an about face.  The way we heard it, Jill Pharren Phelps called Ingle at home asking him to stay on. He was thrilled to get the call.

Chicago disc jockey, Jeffrey T. Mason, a Young and Restless devotee

Talk about a devoted soap fan. Not only has Jeffrey T. Mason been watching the Young and the Restless for 30 years, but he even took a ride to the real Genoa City, Wisconsin to visit the town that is the fictional setting where the show and its daily trials and tribulations take place. He even admits to checking out You Tube looking for behind the scenes videos of Young and Restless.

One must admit this is quite interesting coming from a man, but then again...Jeffrey T. Mason is just not your ordinary guy. He is one of Chicago's top disc jockeys that can be heard everyday from 10 AM to 2 PM on WJMK radio 104.3 (K-Hits) and...
