Daniel Goddard (Cane, Y&R)This is what can happen when ardent soap fans come together via the internet to stand up for their favorite actors and characters.

Fans of the Young and the Restless' Daniel Goddard (Cane Ashby), a charming, very cool guy, with drop dead gorgeous good looks and a great sense of humor, have been campaigning to bring the actor  back to the soap after his character was killed off last February.

Along with creating a Facebook fan campaign, and petitioning the show directly, about 50 die-hard fans of Daniel Goddard's from his Facebook page and other various sites have kicked the process up a notch by pooling their financial resources to hire a plane through Airsign.

Yup, you read that correctly. They went out and hired a plane!

On April 12th from 12:30 - 1:30pm, the plane will do a fly by of CBS Television City, 7800 Beverly Blvd. (Beverly Blvd @ Fairfax in Los Angeles, CA) where Bell-Phillip Productions tapes the Young and the Restless, to let producers know just how serious they are about seeing their favorite character back on the show.

"Back in February 2011, the character Daniel plays, Cane Ashby, was killed and from that moment on us fans have been campaigning to get him back on our #1 Soap The Young and the Restless," said fly-byr organizer, Christine Parker. "My idea, some weeks back was to hire a plane that would show "The Powers That Be" at Y&R, just how serious his fans are. It was the dedication of us fans pulling together to pool our resources that made this possible. Myself, Donna Poznanski, Angela Micallef and Carrie Jordan have been working hard to see this come to be. Plus the donations of countless other fans that have made this all possible. We want Daniel back on our show not only because he belongs on Y&R but also because he appreciates and interacts with his fans."

"I think this is simpy amazing," noted Soapdom founder, Linda Marshall-Smith." "Since Soapdom launched in 2002, we've seen a few fan-mounted campaigns that, thanks to the power of the internet, have proved successful and fans got what they wanted. But hiring a plane to do a fly-by goes over and above. We can only hope The Young and the Restless is paying attention."

Soapdom attempted to reach Daniel Goddard for comment, but he has not returned our call as of press time.

If you're a fan of the Young and the Restless and you can head to CBS Television City on Tuesday, April 12th between 12:30 to 1:30pm, come on out and show your support for Daniel Goddard and his very passionate fans.
