It doesn't hurt to know the president

Mark Consuelos and Kelly RipaFormer All My Children stars Kelly Ripa (Hayley) and husband Mark Consuelos (Mateo_ have signed a first-look development deal with the TLC cable newtwork.  The pair, who made a cameo appearance at TLC's upfront presentation to advertisers at Jazz at Lincoln Center in NYC today are developing projects at the network under their Milojo Productions banner. The deal gives TLC first-look rights at all unscripted series to come out of the production company. Ripa and Consuelos will also host a show for the channel.

Interestingly, the president of TLC is none other than former VP of Daytime Programming for ABC Daytime, Angela Shapiro-Mathes, who made no bones about the early affiliation she shared with former All My Children stars Ripa (Hayley) and Consuelos (Mateo).

"I've known Kelly and Mark since the first day each of them joined All My Children," Shapiro-Mathes said. "They reflect our audience, and the audience knows and loves them. They are now an important part of our TLC family."

"The first thing you want in a relationship is for it to feel right, and this definitely feels right," Ripa and Consuelos said in a joint statement. "And it's great to be working with Angela Shapiro-Mathes again -- she has been instrumental in our careers."

Oh and in case you forgot, Ripa is also the co-host of daily morning talk show, Live with Regis and Kelly, as well as the new spokesperson for Electrolux appliances.
