Do Not Believe Everything You See Posted on Message Boards! has just learned that a post allegedly written by Days of our Lives Thaao Penghlis (Tony) is a fake.  Plain and simple.  Penghlis did not post about his being fired, or that he wanted to urge fans to start a write in campaign to keep him on the show.

“I don’t understand how people can use such poor judgment,” said Soapdom, Inc. CEO Linda Marshall-Smith.  “Being partial to a character and/or an actor is one thing, but to impersonate them online is an outrage, no matter how well intentioned.”

Days of our Lives is currently engrossed in serial killer storyline where many long-time and revered characters are biting the dust at the stalker’s hand.  Fans have been in an uproar for the past few months as actor after actor has gotten the boot.  So far, fan favorites James Reynolds (Abe) and Matthew Ashford (Jack) have met their fate thanks to the serial killer.  Suzanne Rogers (Maggie), Alexis Thorpe (Cassie) and Peggy McCay (Caroline) are reportedly the next to go.

Standing behind the storyline and taking it to the hilt, NBC and Days of our Lives is mounting a first for daytime when they host a Hollywood-style premiere for not one, but two never-before-seen episodes of Day of our Lives on October 28, 2003 at the Arclight Cinerama Dome Theatre in Hollywood, CA.  “This Salem Stalker storyline is already captivating daytime viewers and we are confident that these two episodes are the most shocking yet,” said Sheraton Kalouria, VP NBC Daytime in regard to the Hollywood screening.  (Click for more.)

Could Penghlis’ character, Tony, be the next victim of the Salem Stalker?  Your guess is as good as ours.  The spokesperson for the show will not comment on the rumor, but she is adamant that Penghlis did not post about it, or solicit help from fans to keep him on the show.

“I can unequivocally say that the posting flying around that was allegedly written by him, was not!” she wrote Soapdom in email.
