Reckell motorcycles across country for a good cause

Peter Reckell (Bo, DOOL)PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE is the motto of the World Trade Center Miracles Foundation.

Days of our Lives’ Peter Reckell (“Bo Brady”) led the way when he departed from Universal Studios in Los Angeles on Sunday morning August 31st and rode by motorcycle to Las Vegas.  He will now finish the twelve-day coast-to-coast America’s Ride leading the pack from Pennsylvania to NYC on September 11th.

This community fundraising event raises money for the World Trade Center Miracles Foundation. The 2nd annual ride travels across the country to Shanksville, PA and Washington D.C., ending at Ground Zero, New York on September 11th to assist those who were affected by the terrorist attacks.

Peter purchased the God Bless America Bike* at the Peterson Automotive Museum in LA during the fundraiser kick-off celebration Saturday, August 30, 2003.  He will be riding this very bike into New York City.

*After the attack on 9/11, the employees of Titan Motorcycles wanted to contribute somehow to helping the survivors and their families. They rallied to build a custom bike to honor those men and women who lost their lives in the tragedy. The Titan employees donated their time while parts were contributed from their vendors. The end result was a beautiful special edition motorcycle known as “the “God Bless America Bike.”

Nicknamed “ The Rudy” after former New York City Mayor, Rudy Giuliani, the silver custom painted bike has the American Flag draped over its tank, with the inscription “God Bless America”. On the fender of the bike is the likeness of the three firemen raising the flag at Ground Zero during the ongoing rescue operations.  Donn Proudfoot, the owner of Titan Motorcycles, decided that the “God Bless America” bike was destined to be a part of America’s Ride. He donated the motorcycle to America’s Ride so that people across the nation could share in the spirit of which the bike was created and to aid the ride in it’s fundraising efforts.

Days of our Lives: A day of days event is truly an experience

Days of our Lives stars walk the red carpet giving the fans everything they ever dreamed of. The annual Day of Days recently held at Universal City Walk in Universal City, California; brings fans from across the country and even the globe to meet their favorite star. And what makes this event special is that it is not one star, but the whole cast.

The day begins in the morning and ends late afternoon with a special treat of the next episode that did not yet air that is shown to the fans on a big Trinitron screen. I must point out that that is also a press day with many reporters from different publications and outlets in the media.

The event is not only a day for the fans, but the stars as well. Deidre Hall (Marlena) said that every year she looks forward to the event. "I do. I love this. Just look around. It is phenomenal," she said. "To see people like this all gathered is great. It is hard to describe unless you are here."
