BURBANK, CA (October 10, 2003)  -- NBC will unveil two never-before-seen episodes from the network’s top-rated daytime drama, “DAYS OF OUR LIVES,” in an unprecedented Hollywood premiere event for daytime television, it was announced today by Sheraton Kalouria, Senior Vice President of Daytime Programming, NBC Entertainment.  The two episodes will be combined to produce one feature length presentation for the TUESDAY, OCTOBER 28 premiere.  The showcased episodes air separately on NBC one week later, on November 4 and November 5.  Presenting the next three attacks in the soap's new serial killer storyline, the red carpet screening will take place at ArcLight’s Cinerama Dome (6360 Sunset Blvd.) in Hollywood, CA.  Arrivals begin at 6:00 p.m. and the private screening will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Diedre Hall (Marlena, DOOL)Stars from “Days of our Lives” including Deidre Hall (Marlena), Kristian Alfonso (Hope), Peter Reckell (Bo), Drake Hogestyn (John) and Alison Sweeney (Sami) will attend the premiere along with the show’s producers, crew and most ardent viewers.  In keeping with the “Slasher Movie” tone of the event, fans of “Days of our Lives” are invited to come to the ArcLight complex in Hollywood to watch the “Blood Red Carpet Arrivals” and are encouraged to dress in Halloween costumes.

“The ‘Salem Stalker’ storyline is already captivating daytime viewers and we’re confident that these two episodes are the most shocking yet,” said Kalouria.  “The fact that original cast member John Clarke and Emmy Award-winning cast member Suzanne Rogers are featured so prominently in these episodes demands that we showcase them in a way that has traditionally been reserved for feature films.”

Suzanne Rogers (Maggie, DOOL)This storyline focuses on a serial killer who is attacking some of Salem’s most prominent citizens.  With each new episode the plot thickens as beloved members of this quaint community are mysteriously slain and the killer leads police farther and farther away from solving the heinous crimes.  The episodes that will be screened include shocking attacks on Mickey and Maggie Horton, characters who have been part of “Days of our Lives” since the very beginning of the show.

Celebrating its 38th anniversary this November, “Days of our Lives” has generated numerous Emmy Awards and nominations, as well as numerous “Soap Opera Digest” Awards and People’s Choice Awards. The show’s success derives from its consistent commitment to excellence in writing and storytelling - supported by a diverse ensemble of performers - and an uncanny knack for anticipating viewer interests. From demonic possessions and baby switches to exciting teen Alison Sweeney (Sami, DOOL)stories and classic love triangles, “Days of our Lives” remains a perennial favorite among viewers of all ages.

“Days of our Lives” is produced by Corday Productions Inc. in association with Sony Pictures Television. Executive producer Ken Corday is following in the tradition of his parents, Betty and Ted Corday, who co-created “Days of our Lives” and helmed the series for many years. Stephen Wyman is also Co-Executive Producer. James E. Reilly is head writer of this show and NBC’s other daytime drama “Passions,” which he also created.
