Stacy Haiduk (ex Warden Smith, DOOL)Stacy Haiduk out as Warden Smith. Gina Gallego in.

It really is true what they say -- easy come, easy go. Although we will always continue to question just who "they" are, they do seem to know their stuff.

Case in point. Stacy Haiduk. Tall, gorgeous, fun and funny, a verstile actor with a wicked sense of humor (like strolling the Red Carpet for the 2009 Daytime Emmys with her character's stuffed cat in tow) Stacy Haiduk, most recently appears on the Young and the Restless in a dual role of mentally-deranged Patty Williams and her therapist, Dr. Emily Petersen.

Soapdom learned at the Daytime Emmys in 2010 that Haiduk was going to be exiting Genoa City because her contract was not picked up.

But like "they" say, when one door closes another opens, and almost as soon as Haiduk got the news Y&R chose to pass, she learned at the Daytime Emmys that she was heading over to Salem to play a Warden on Days of our Lives.

She dishes about the scoop with Soapdom in this Red Carpet video.

We were delighted for her. But now comes the easy come, easy go part. Almost as soon as Haiduk learned of her new role on Days, the plug has been pulled. Days is saying it's scheduling conflicts and has already announced a replacement:

"Due to scheduling conflicts for Stacy Haiduk, the role of 'Warden Smith' will now be played by Gina Gallego. Gina will appear on DAYS in the beginning of October. We are huge fans of Stacy's and would love to have her back on DAYS in the future if something becomes available."

But it appears that there is more to the story than meets the eye, and although scheduling does play a part, it seems that Days may not be as flexible as one would hope.

Haiduk had this to say on her Facebook page:

"For all you guys out there who were all set to watch me on DAYS I have some bad news. DAYS has dropped me. It all started when I booked a guest spot on a new show for FOX, Ride-Along. The show will shoot in Chicago and I have to leave town for that. There was a conflict in scheduling so FOX pushed me to their second week. But when ONE day was still in conflict, instead of working things out, DAYS decided to drop me."

Soapdom wishes Haiduk the best and can't wait to see her on Fox's Ride-A-Long. Will another soap pick her up? Stay tuned!
