UPDATE...May 29, 2007. James Reynolds underwent heart valve surgery on May 24 and will not be hosting the basketball game this year. But the games will go on. Reynolds is expected to make a complete recovery, but while he is on the mend, Reynolds' son, Jed, will step in and host the basketball game on June 1.
James Reynolds, best known as Police Commissioner Abe Carver on NBC-TV’s “Days of our Lives,” will host the 18th Annual “Days of our Lives” Celebrity Basketball Game to benefit the South Pasadena High School Boys Basketball Program and the Pasadena Ronald McDonald House on Friday, June 1, 2007 at 7:30 pm.
Hooping it up with Reynolds will be “Days of our Lives” castmates Bryan Dattilo (Lucas), Josh Taylor (Roman), Alison Sweeney (Sami), Kyle Lowder (ex Brady; Rick, Bold and the Beautiful), Arianne Zuker (ex Nicole), Martha Madison (Belle), Rachel Melvin (Chelsea), Billy Warlock (ex Frankie), Darin Brooks (Max), Jay Kenneth Johnson (Philip), Tanya Boyd (Celeste), Stephen Nichols (Steve), James Scott (E.J.), Blake Berris (Nick), Brandon Beemer (Shawn) and Julie Pinson (Billie).
The event will take place at South Pasadena High School’s Main Gym located at 1401 Diamond, one block behind the school. Doors will open at 7:00 pm and there will be a raffle as well as a silent auction. For VIP ticket holders the doors open at 6:30 pm, where they can mingle with the cast and crew of “Days of our Lives” and sit behind the cast benches during the game.
Advanced tickets are $15 for all attendees and $20 at the door. VIP tickets are $125, which includes a signed “Days of our Lives” script, a group photo with the cast, a game tee shirt, five raffle tickets to win prizes throughout the evening, food and drinks, and a goodie bag.
