Share your thoughts on the storyline. Take this survey .
On a recent episode of the Bold and the Beautiful, Taylor (Hunter Tylo) and Nick's (Jack Wagner) baby was born with a life-threatening disease, SICD (Severe Combined Immunodeficiency). Potentially fatal, it can now be diagnosed by a simple blood test, just like the one performed by Bridget (Ashley Jones) soon after baby Jack's birth. The cure? Stem cells from a bone marrow transplant. Enter Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and the baby is on the road to recovery. But there are many cases where a family member may not be a match and there is an urgent need for donors. In addition to SCID, other illnesses that require bone marrow transplants include leukemia and lymphoma. It may be the only hope for a cure for many of these patients. When you become a donor, you give someone a chance for a long healthy life. For more info visit morrow.org , bloodcell.transplant.hrsa.gov and scid.net
In addition, you can take part in a research study sharing your thoughts about the storyline. Soapdom has learned that researchers at the University of Southern California (USC) are seeking Bold and Beautiful viewers to complete a survey about the storyline surrounding Nick, Taylor, Brooke and the birth of Baby Jack. The project is funded, in part, by money from the Centers for Disease Control. Fans who complete the survey have the chance to enter a lottery to win one of four $100 Amazon.com certificates; it is the researchers' way of saying thanks.
Take the survey here .
Good luck. We have our fingers crossed that you will be one of the lucky lottery winners and get one of the $100 Amazon gift certs! Soapdom also thanks you for taking part in this important survey.

... I know where the creater of this survey was going but they chose a bad show to go there with! B&B made a joke out of what could have been and should have been a serious issue. I feel sorry for the families that do indure the horror Nick and taylor were supposed to face because it is severe and B&B simply turned Baby jack into practically a joke. B&B might someday be worth something when they decide that brooke sleeping with as many men as she can and all of their relatives isn't as entertaining as the show seems to think it is. I am disgusted, disappointed and have no respect for B&B for taking two very serious issues in our times Rape and SICD and making them just another conquest for Brooke whom if she were a real person would need to be committed as a public safety issue. I do applaud Soapdom for doing their part in bringing awareness and education to those who were left with little of either from watching B&B. |

... I personally feel it was a smart move to use a soap to put across the issue. When one watches B&B or any of the soaps on a daily basis, the characters become part of an extended family and folks pay attention to details projected by the emotions, reactions, etc as displayed by the characters. I would say go for it! If one can educate while being entertained why not! That is my two cents on the topic. |
