From Oakdale to Port Charles, Lesli Kay takes on GH's Lois

Soapdom can now confirm that Lesli Kay, who has played Molly on As the World Turns for seven years, is about to be on her way to the west coast to star on General Hospital. 

Relocating to the west coast was something Kay wanted to do.  A role opened on General Hospital -- a recast of Lois -- and Kay went out for it. She got it!  She begins taping her scenes as Lois on May 24 and her first airdate is June 10, 2004.

Naturally, the folks at ATWT will miss her, but were gracious in honoring her wishes to head west.  On her departure, ATWT executive producer, Chris Goutman states:

"In consideration of the needs of her family, Lesli Kay expressed the desire to relocate to Los Angeles," he said. "When the opportunity at General Hospital arose, we chose not to stand in her way.  Lesli Kay has served As the World Turns with the utmost professionalism and enthusiasm for the past seven years. We wish her and her family nothing but the best."

Now that Kay is heading to General Hospital in the role of Lois, what will that mean for the denizens of Port Charles?  What's more, will ATWT recast the role of Molly?  Like we like to say in soapdom, stay tuned.
