Vanessa Williams (Desperate Housewives) (c)Soapdom/LMSAs Soapdom previously reported, the 43rd NAACP Image Awards nominations were announced at a live press conference at the Paley Center in Bevely Hills on Thursday, January 19, 2012.  Vanessa Williams (Desperate Housewives), Tracee Ellis Ross (Reed Between the Lines), Corey Reynolds (The Closer) and Craig Robinson (The Office) walked the Red Carpet -- which in this case was a seafood green carpet -- then adjourned to the Paley Center theater to announce the nominees and categories.

After some introductory remarks by representatives of the NAACP, and one of its major sponsors for this event, UAW/Chrysler, Craig Robinson and Tracee Ellis Ross took to the podium to announce the first nominees.  Ross was a stitch as every time either she, or a project in which she worked, was nominated, she did a very cute happy dance around the podium.  At first, the low key and quite professional Craig Robinson took his duties quite responsibly, but when he was nominated, he took Ross' lead and did a happy dance around the podium as well.

It was easy to see how Vanessa Williams once won the Miss America pageant.  She is simply gorgeous.  She was having a great time at this event, laughing with co-announcers and NAACP staff at every turn.  She was seated in the theatre audience next to Corey Reynolds, who maintained a very calm, collected demeanor, until he was called to the podium to announce his batch of nominees.

As soon as he took to the microphone, he revealed how hot and bothered he was thanks to sitting next to Williams.  He was beside himself with awe in her presence.  "I haven't said but a word to her all this time," he admitted.  But he took the opportunity at the podium to express how she wowed him.  She took it all very good naturally.

Williams was the last star to announce nominees.  And as it turned out. all the announcers were nominees themselves.
