Beth Hart's "Leave the Light On" Serves as Soundtrack for Network-Wide Ad Campaign

Though it may seem a bit like an example of life imitating art, singer/songwriter Beth Hart's rough-and-tumble melodies really are the perfect accompaniment for a soap opera.

At least, the network execs at CBS Daytime think so.  The network partnered with the singer/songwriter to produce and air promos for the CBS Daytime line up that featured the artist's new hit single, "Leave the Light On."

In a spotlight article, BILLBOARD effusively praised Hart's "raw, profoundly personal songs [that] reveal the tortured soul of a woman who has been to hell and back more than once," while a recent cover story in MUSIC CONNECTION magazine noted that her "songs have a sense of hope and vulnerability expressed by lyrics that vividly articulate her struggles -- and desire for redemption."

So it's entirely fitting that "Leave the Light On," the first single from her upcoming Koch Records CD, also titled LEAVE THE LIGHT ON, serves as the soundtrack for a new promotional campaign for CBS-TV's four daytime dramas: THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL, AS THE WORLD TURNS and GUIDING LIGHT.

Portions of the song, along with scenes from the TV shows and, in some ads, images from the artist's music video, accompanied various 20- and 30-second spots marketing the network's afternoon lineup.

All eleven tracks on the LEAVE THE LIGHT ON disc palpably explore the raw emotion and personal demons that have played a defining role in Hart's life. From the gritty introspection of "Leave the Light On" and the dark intensity of "Lay Your Hands On Me" to the Gospel-infused joy of "Sky Full of Clover," LEAVE THE LIGHT ON is a down-to-earth yet deeply affecting expression of Hart's freshly reawakened passion for life, love and music.

Hart's brand-new album, LEAVE THE LIGHT ON, arrived in record stores on October 21st. http://www.bethhart.com/.
