ABC's Wide World of Soaps

It's the ecstasy of adultery and the agony of deceit as Bob Guiney (The Bachelor) takes on the role of soap commentator on The Wide World of Soaps, a playful and fun promotional campaign to air on the network for two weeks, beginning August 16, Brian Frons, president, ABC Daytime announced.

Get Your First Looks

The campaign is specifically designed to mentor, inform and entertain ABC Daytime fans, while targeting fans missing their soaps due to Olympic coverage.  Namely, Days of our Lives and Passions fans.

The spots will feature reporting from Bob Guiney, the signature ABC yellow blazer, and the popular stars of ABC Daytime.  The Wide World of Soaps will air at the end of The View and twice an hour during All My Children, One Life to Live and General Hospital.

"Fans need their soaps, and we wanted to alert every soap viewer, especially those whose soaps might not be on during this period, that ABC soaps are on the air and have a lot to offer," said Mr. Frons. "Bob Guiney was the perfect choice to host the men's free style six pack competition, sweat it out in the locker room, engage in play-by-play scene analysis with our hottest guys, and get up close and personal with our villains and vamps."
