Episode # 15,755----Josh tells Reva he wants to show her what he got for Henry's birthday. They realize they got the same exact rocking horse for Henry. Reva finally agrees to get Henry another gift, but she's not happy about it. Shayne gets to work helping Marina put up birthday party decorations. Marina is reminded of Mallet when she finds his SPD badge in her bag. Meanwhile, Mallet gets his assignment to a small town close to the Austrian border. Shayne admires Henry's hands and says Henry is going to be a ballplayer someday. Shayne picks up a call from Mallet. Mallet wishes Henry a happy birthday and apologizes he couldn't be there to celebrate. Marina is sad when Mallet ends the call, and she rushes out before she gets overwhelmed by emotion. Frank thinks it's too soon for Marina to have a party for Henry, but Buzz thinks she needs this to move forward. Lillian tells Buzz she needs to be around a little happiness today. Shayne tells Josh that this is the first time he's felt complete and settled. Reva shows Josh the baseball outfit she got for Henry. Josh opens the back of her car and blue balloons escape out the back of her car. Lillian tells Reva and Josh that Phillip is dying. Reva decides they need to pull it together for Marina and Shayne, and they all head inside. Frank tells Shayne that he's a good dad and that it takes a big man to step up. Shayne and Marina bring Henry in to applause and happy birthdays. Buzz comes in the room dressed as a clown and he starts making balloon animals. Marina and Shayne help Henry blow out his birthday candles. Buzz passes around wishing chocolates and everyone makes their own wish. Frank wishes Cyrus peace. Lizzie wishes for Sarah and a new baby with Bill.
Alan has a dream that he's in line behind businessmen, who are standing in front of a blank wall. A man tells him it's the line for survivors. Alan sees Phillip go through a door into a void. Alan tells Phillip he wants to save Phillip, but Phillip says no. Alan wants Phillip to consider what will happen to the family if Phillip dies. Alan dreams that he's in line again. A man tells Alan that he was clever enough to avoid the door for fools. Phillip comes in the door then steps into the void again. Alan dejectedly tells Lillian that Phillip won't let him donate his bone marrow. Daisy tells Phillip that no matter how James acts, he really is upset. Alan sees blue balloons rise into the sky and thinks it's a sign. Bill and Lizzie see Alan walking aimlessly and staring at the sky. Alan assures them he's fine. Alan dreams he's in line again behind men holding things of value. A man tells Alan to consider how much he'll lose-position, reputation, and fortune. Suddenly Alan sees that all the men in line are Alan Spaulding. Alan sees a few blue balloons tangled near the entrance. Phillip overhears Alan tell Phillip's grave that he wants to save him and that he can't lose him without losing himself. Alan explains he wants Phillip to go through the door together. He asks Phillip how he can live if he doesn't do everything he can to save his son. He begs Phillip to let him be a man of courage so he can like himself. Phillip finally agrees to help Alan.
