{mosimage}Alexis is adamantly opposed to starting chemotherapy treatments. She believes that she is too weakened due to the other complications to her illness and chemo will totally debilitate, maybe even kill her. Jax tells Sonny that Alexis will almost certainly die if she doesn’t begin chemotherapy. Sonny tries to goad Alexis into fighting for her life and undergoing chemotherapy by threatening to take Kristina the moment Alexis dies.

At the same time, Carly jumps to the wrong conclusion when Jax brings her home to his penthouse. Jax explains that seeing what Alexis is going through made him realize how precious his time with Carly is. Carly and Jax profess their love for one another.

While across town, Jason struggles to get past the fact that Sam and Ric slept together. Speaking of Ric, he manipulates Sam into spending time with him in order to put his plan against Jason in motion. Jason sees Ric cozying up to Sam.

In the meantime, Elizabeth tells Nikolas that she will never get back together with Lucky. Elizabeth is affected after attending an Al-Anon meeting.

Soapers ~ a movement, a philosophy, a new book

When ABC announced the cancellation of long time fan favorite soap operas All My Children and One Life to Live in the spring of 2011, all havoc broke loose. Passionate fans took to the internet, boycotted ABC's advertisers, called for the firing of then ABC Daytime head, Brian Frons (who spearheaded the cancellations), picketed the studio, did anything and everything they possibly could to let the network know just how unhappy they were with the network's decision to dump their continuing stories for the more cost efficient lifestyle and talk shows that were to replace the soaps.

One such loyal fan, Flo DiBona, has chronicled the events of this tumultuous time in her new book, Soapers.
