The situation at the hospital grows increasingly dire. Jason informs the people inside the boardroom they can’t leave. After a temporary airlock is in place, Kate is taken out of the room. Claudia jumps into action to hopefully seal the air duct. Patrick makes a scary discovery while examining Earl’s corpse. Trevor collapses after going off on a rant. Rayner orders Patrick to place the entire hospital under quarantine. Claudia is about to announce that Anthony shot Kate but she passes out before she gets the chance.

As all heck is breaking out at the hospital, across town from the havoc, Robin is on the brink of completely losing it. She is therefore privately relieved when Mac stops by and looks after Emma. However, Robin’s hopes to leave Emma with Mac are soon dashed when he’s called away on police business.

Back at the hospital, someone is up to no good in the contaminated operating room. Shortly thereafter, Luke catches a young Australian guy named Ethan breaking into the Haunted Star. Ethan proves to be no match for Luke.

Soapers ~ a movement, a philosophy, a new book

When ABC announced the cancellation of long time fan favorite soap operas All My Children and One Life to Live in the spring of 2011, all havoc broke loose. Passionate fans took to the internet, boycotted ABC's advertisers, called for the firing of then ABC Daytime head, Brian Frons (who spearheaded the cancellations), picketed the studio, did anything and everything they possibly could to let the network know just how unhappy they were with the network's decision to dump their continuing stories for the more cost efficient lifestyle and talk shows that were to replace the soaps.

One such loyal fan, Flo DiBona, has chronicled the events of this tumultuous time in her new book, Soapers.
