Jonathan Jackson returns to the role he created
Make no mistake - I love Jonathan Jackson. But for some reason, every time he spoke on that first day, I heard Greg Vaughan's voice. By the time the week ended, I was fine with the transition. It took some getting used to though. Jonathan is all grown up now. Last time we saw him he was closer to a boy and this time around he's a man! But I've always loved Jonathan's interaction with Tony Geary. They're just so natural and appealing together. It's been a long time since I've heard Luke call Lucky "cowboy" and it felt right. And I had to laugh when Liz answered her door and Lucky said, "remember me?" That made the transition a little lighter.
Once again I have to comment on Elizabeth and Lucky. Liz keeps pulling away from Lucky and thinking about Nikolas. She daydreams about kissing the man. It looks like Liz and Nik may be in love. I really wish Liz would tell Lucky the truth.
Dante/Dominic is such a good guy! He took care of Lulu when she was so out of it she didn't have a clue what she was doing. He could have taken advantage of her and he didn't. I love how protective Dante/Dominic is of Sonny's kids too. He's so darn cute too - I can't forget to mention that.
I think we've seen some terrific work from Maurice Benard this week. His facial expressions just gave me chills. The way he smiled at Claudia and told her she was finally getting what she deserved. I don't think anyone can do intimidating and dangerous better than Maurice as Sonny. He really is impressive, especially when he gets that look on his face and his eyes get all dark. It was kind of sad that Michael and Kristina had to witness the whole drama.
I can't help but feel bad for Claudia. She's a desperate woman who got herself backed into a corner. Taking Carly hostage only made things worse for her.
I think it would have been refreshing if Sonny could have forgiven Claudia. I know Sonny doesn't usually do forgiveness but I think his time has come. Claudia really has changed since she ordered the hit that injured Michael. I don't say she's innocent. Quite the opposite, in fact. But I think Claudia has become a different person in many ways. Claudia is remorseful for what happened to Michael and killing her won't change anything. All it will do is continue the vicious circle that is Sonny's life and his world.

Maybe -- maybe not Hum, Claudia may have changed on some counts since ordering the hit on Sonny that ultimately severely injured Michael and almost killed the boy, but not on many. What do you call her machinations regarding wanting to bed Dominic/Dante just for his sperm? She is still pretty cutthroat and self-serving. She is an "I want." It's all about her and what's she's after. Although I love Sarah Brown and her performance ability, I have to agree with her Tweet when she first announced she'd be leaving GH. She said, "the character of Claudia has run it's course, at least for me." Me too. |
