Robin & Patrick have the time of their lives at Karaoke night!
I'm surprised by how much I like Michael living with the Q's. I like the way he calls Edward "grandpa" instead being so formal and calling him "grandfather" the way everyone else does. And Carly's interaction with Edward is always good for a laugh. "Are you getting slow" Carly asked Edward when she learned that he (Edward) let Michael drive without a license. She was insinuating that Edward wasgetting senile. Who else could say that to Edward Q and live to tell about it? Only Carly. Edward always had a soft spot for Carly. I hope we see more of them together.
I have to say, the ONLY thing I don't like about Dante is he looks a bit too old to be Olivia's son. The actors are only around nine years apart so I'm choosing to ignore that fact since I absolutely love Dominic Zamprogna. He's fun, bold, and funny and a breath of fresh air. Dante ads some definite excitement to the mix. Not only is he Sonny's first born, he works for Claudia. Or does he? I've read Dante may be working under cover to take Sonny down. I'm not sure I believe that, but it's an interesting idea.
It's also funny to me that Sonny keeps insisting Johnny is "young enough" to be Olivia's son. Brandon Barash is hardly young enough to be Lisa LoCicero's son. Another fact I'm choosing to ignore since I love Johnny and Olivia together.
Speaking of Lisa LoCicero, I think Olivia is starting to evolve into a core character. She's totally believable as this tough, yet vulnerable woman from Sonny's past. As a mom, I understand and respect her reasons for keeping Dante away from Sonny. Olivia doesn't have an agenda either. I like the fact that Olivia has proven herself trustworthy. I like her friendship with Carly too. It's about time Carly had a close friend. Most of all, I love Olivia's contempt for Claudia. I don't think I've seen a rivalry as off the charts as theirs in a long time.
Speaking of excitement, Jerry Jacks is heading back to Port Charles soon. The other day, Sebastian Roche told his Twitter followers "there's going to be some crazy action on GH to come!" I know we're all looking forward to that.
It's always a good week when Coleman is around. I love this character in more ways that I can count. Blake Gibbons is so unique and natural - I'm forever a fan of his work. Karaoke night at Jake's gave us lots of Coleman. It also gave us some unusual entertainment. Patrick and Robin sang a song from "Dirty Dancing." A strange choice since they must have been kids when that movie was all the rage. But I have to give Jason Thompson and Kim McCullough props for their performance. They looked like they were genuinely having fun and not just "acting."
Poor Spinelli lost his ace in the hole when his magic microphone landed in a pitcher of beer. Even though Spinelli is vocally challenged, most of us know that Bradford Anderson isn't. Bradford is a terrific singer. We've heard him sing on GH in the past. Bradford was born to grace the Broadway stage. Take a look at his 2008 performance at the Broadway Cares Equity Fights Aids event.
Yep, this guy was born for musical theater. It should be interesting to see how poor Spinelli measures up. I have a feeling things are gonna go his way.
