The ballad of Sonny & Brenda ends on a sour note
Brenda jumped into marriage with Sonny too fast. She didn’t get to know him all over again. If she had, she would know he won’t ever change. And Brenda is correct – Sonny should be loyal to her first. Imagine that – framing Jax was more
important to Sonny than Brenda was.
What a line that was from Brenda: ‘After I realized you did this to Jax, I realized in my heart that I don’t like you anymore.’
It seems Brenda finally sees Sonny for who he really and truly is. She’s finally looking at Sonny with her eyes wide open. It’s very sad, but that relationship is over. And Brenda finally has control of her life – she’s made a huge decision to leave Sonny and all that he represents. It’s nice to see Brenda finally stand up for herself and for what’s right.
Sonny is in love with his power. Nothing – not family or friends comes before power to that man. He’s not even human and Brenda finally realized that. Sonny isn’t the man that Brenda carried in her heart. Even though this whole thing is a reality check for Brenda, it’s very sad.
I did like seeing Brenda and Jax leave town together on his jet. That was very poetic. I don’t think they’ll cross the friendship line though. It’s kind of fun that Sonny thinks they will cross that line.
So, with the end of Brenda and Sonny came the exit of Vanessa Marcil Giovinazzo (Brenda). Although Ingo Rademacher (Jax) left with her, he will reportedly be back later this summer.
